Exclusive: Four-time Primetime Emmy winner Rob Corddry has inked with Buchwald and Artists First for representation.

The Weymouth, Massachusetts native and Upright Citizens Brigade alum was the co-creator EP, writer and star of Adult Swim’s long-running comedy series, Childrens Hospital on which he played Dr. Blake Downs, Flake the Clown and Rory Spindell. Corddry took home four Emmy wins on the show for Best Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series and Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series in 2016, and 2012 and 2013 wins for Outstanding Special Class – Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs. Childrens Hospital ran for 87 episodes.

Childrens Hospital spawned the spinoff series Medical Police which debuted on Netflix in 2020.

Corddry also starred alongside Dwayne Johnson in five seasons of the five-time Emmy nominated HBO series Ballers.

On the feature side, he is best known for starring in both installments of the cult classic franchise, Hot Tub Time Machine.

Exclusive: David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), Ashley Greene (Twilight), and newcomer Samantha Cochran will topline The Cure, a horror thriller from director Nancy Leopardi that has wrapped production in Los Angeles.

Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, who penned Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane, the film centers on Cochran’s Ally Braun, an adopted 16-year-old with a mysterious illness who learns her bio-tech billionaire parents (Dastmalchian and Greene) are harvesting her blood for nefarious purposes.

In a statement to Deadline, Leopardi called the film “a satirical take on the modern billionaire class cloaked in a crowd-pleasing thriller,” adding, “The Cure is made in the tradition of classic horror and sci-fi films that are inspired by terrifying socio-political realities and advances in bio-technology. Like Ex-Machina, A.I., and Videodrome I believe we are on the cusp of a revolution in science and the big question is – who will benefit?”

Rob Corddry has been promoted to series regular status for Season 2 of the Max comedy series “Bookie.” Corddry appeared in Season 1 of the Chuck Lorre series in the guest role of Walt Dinty.

Malin Åkerman has landed the leading role of Margo Banks in the new Starz drama The Hunting Wives, an 8-episode series based on the novel of the same name by May Cobb. Production is set to begin in Charlotte, North Carolina this spring.

From writer, showrunner and EP Rebecca Cutter (Hightown), The Hunting Wives tells the story of Sophie O’Neil and her family’s move from the East Coast to deep East Texas, where she succumbs to socialite Margo’s irresistible charms – and finds her life consumed by obsession, seduction and murder.

In addition to Cutter and Cobb, executive producers also include Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The Casting Society (CSA) announced film nominees for the 39th Artios Awards honoring the contributions of casting pros in film, TV, theatre and commercials, a list that features the casting departments for numerous Oscar-contending films including “Oppenheimer,” “Maestro,” “The Color Purple,” “Rustin,” “American Fiction,” “The Holdovers,” “Barbie,” “Past Lives” and “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

The Casting Society (CSA) has announced the film nominees for the 39th Artios Awards, presented by the Casting Society of America. “The Color Purple,” “Saltburn,” “Maestro,” “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “Oppenheimer” are among the nominated films in big budget drama.

The awards honor casting directors’ contributions to film, television and theatre. Among the casting directors with multiple nominations are Avy Kaufman and Jessica Sherman. Also nominated are the casting directors behind “Barbie” and “The Iron Claw.”

The winners will be revealed on March 7, with celebrations being held in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in New York City at the Edison Ballroom and in London, England.

As previously announced, Ava DuVernay is this year’s recipient of the Lynn Stalmaster Award Career Achievement.

Casting Society has made its 2024 callbacks. The group today revealed the film nominees for its 39th Artios Awards, which honor the contribution of casting professionals.

Vying in the Feature Big Budget – Drama category are The Color Purple, Maestro, Killers of the Flower Moon, Oppenheimer and Saltburn. The Feature Big Budget – Comedy race will be among Air; Are you There God? It’s Me, Margaret; Asteroid City, Cocaine Bear and Wonka.

Casting Society (CSA) today announced the the film nominees for the 39th annual Artios Awards, which honor the contribution of casting directors in film, television and theater. The CSA previously announced the nominees for its television, theater, short film and short-form series categories on Oct. 24.

Among the nominees this year are Oscar frontrunners Air, American Fiction, Barbie, The Color Purple, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, May December, Oppenheimer, Past Lives and Rustin.

Netflix and Warner Bros. both lead the nominees with five nods apiece, followed by Amazon Studios with four noms.

Three casting directors were honored with three nods: Rich Delia, Adam Richards and Susan Shopmaker. Receiving two nominations each are Dylan Jury, Avy Kaufman, Meagan Lewis, Lisa Lobel, Melissa Morris, Kimberly Ostroy, Angela Peri, Laura Rosenthal, Jessica Sherman, Bernard Telsey and Debra Zane

Exclusive: Rob Corddry is set as a lead opposite Terry Crews and Ryan Michelle Bathé in JumpStart, CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot based on Robb Armstrong’s long-running comic strip, from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling’s TrillTV and CBS Studios. He rounds out the series regular cast of the pilot, which Glynn Turman has joined as a guest star in a recurring role.

Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has continued its feature film investment strategy by completing pre-buy financing and securing North American and UK/Ireland distribution rights to Sam & Kate, a family dramedy starring Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek. Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Chris Naoki Lee’s feature directorial debut, Dinner Party, in which he stars alongside Kara Wang (Top Gun: Maverick), Imani Hakim (Mythic Quest) and Kausar Mohammed (The Flash). The global indie distributor has slated the pic for a day-and-date release on August 19.

Inspired by Lee’s own experiences growing up in a diverse community outside of Los Angeles, the indie ensemble drama follows Izzy (Hakim) and boyfriend Cal (Lee) as they go to a casual reunion dinner party amongst Cal’s childhood friends 10 years after high school. The friends navigate socially sensitive topics, though some fall on deaf ears when it comes to the hyper-masculine Miles (Charles Hittinger). It doesn’t take long for Izzy to notice that Shannon (Wang), co-host and childhood friend to the boys, seems uncomfortable around Miles, as the film simmers into a slow burn that erupts in the final act.
