every time one says shokof is out of it due to many unclear reasons, this guy comes up with a punch full of originality, freshness of situations and incredible directing method which he claims to have formed as "Amenic".this film Flushers is really eye opening surprise in many years.it is about one day life of 2 toilet keepers who share a lottery ticket and have to go through so many events with so many types of people from all layers of life with the hope that they might just win this day and would never ever have to work as toilet keepers. the situations are brilliantly executed, the actors are absolutely great.Patrick is out of this world. a French classic with so many modern and advanced ideas and stories and banal at times that i have to admit this is the most wonderful piece of film i have seen since buster keaton,s or perhaps the great Tati films. very global, very French, very American, very Un German but shot entirely in Germany.believe it or not it is really been done in Germany. my first 10 of the years 2012-2013 and hope he makes a sequel while the perspectives are wide open.
tired of all day's long and frustrated works and this and that?well then, Flushers is what the doctor just ordered for a whole world to see.patrick and sara are toilet keepers and share a lottery ticket together which is up for win today.however, they have to continue work and face all sorts of amazing people who just come to their toilets to do their work but also to get to know them for better or worse.this film by shokof tops all his other original comedies and if i were to speculate also his ticket to fame and fortune as i see flushers 2 behind the door. congratulations mr.shokof and enjoy your success.greatly and deservingly 10.
this film has to be seen with regards to many issues.i have to first and foremost write it is raw, pure, fresh, wild, funny as anything can get in history of making movies but above all it is in my opinion the best, most original and entertaining film in cinema period, and equally all that from daryush shokof whose films i simply find adorable for their sheer originality, and great cynicism.the tale of 2 unfortunate, not very happy with their jobs (toilet keepers) acted brilliantly by the french first timer actor who shines all over the scenes he plays.on the other side of the wall there is a woman who tends the toilet and she too confronts all sorts of banal to sophisticated to flat cheerful happenings inside her toilets.the two toilet keepers share a lottery ticket with which they hope to win this very day and leave the toilet life behind forever.in between the man is in love with the woman toilet keeper and the possibility that their ticket might just win also gives him (patrick) the hope that she (sara) might even marry her as well.the hilarious scenes from this gem of a movie can not really be explained unless one sees this whole amazing piece of filmmaking unravels itself on a big screen.i would so much love to see Flushers in every household and on screens everywhere where such films can teach many how films can be incredible only if a genius concept and mind is behind it to make it right no matter how moneyless a whole production can be.Flushers in my opinion could be remade again like most films of shokof but regardless of how big of a budget or names acting in the remakes , none would ever achieve the signature, maturity and originality of what shokof masters in all his films.i just loved Flushers.a 10 for having made a masterpiece again.
i have recently become close viewer of Shokof films.the first problem is where to find one, but i did.i make this short so that flushers would be my focus at this time.this brilliant concept which can in my opinion become a great successful episodic series anywhere in the world is perhaps that right medicine for viewers world wide to get a first look at what an Amenic Film can look like?Amenic Film is a discovery by Shokof where one chooses a concept, films it, edits it, screens it and only thereafter , one starts writing the "Script".Shokof;s Flushers is a knock out fun and brilliant film experience no matter if you understand arts or not.it is in my opinion as artistic as his Seven Servants but so easy to digest that you forget a master story- teller is telling stories in a space you have never ever been confined in while watching a movie.Flushers is "Life" continues in Toilets.both women rest room and mens restroom.the scene is open for a whole planet to show all that happens in it.the setting is really outstanding and can only be expected from someone like Shokof.the lines are so great.the actors are so amazing that one thinks they have all been born behind cameras but most are just "line" actors.all this to Shokof;s credit as a world class original and powerful director and certainly my favorite one, since it all comes down to his creativity potentials to have just probably made the decades most enjoyable film with much to look for and to expect from it in days ahead. just perfectest film i ever saw in my life.
