The Ultimatum earns 8 bags of popcorn. Absolutely gripping and worth binge watching.
There's highs, there's lows, there's a Vanessa and stainless steel cups. If you love reality tv and couples drama then you'll love this show.
I wasn't expecting to get so caught up in these individuals' lives, but by the end of episode 1 I knew all their names and already had my opinions about who should be with who and who should leave who.
The structure of the show is great. You get a good introduction to the couples but then are quickly thrown into their new relationships. By the time they go back to their original partner, it feels like they've each gone through a genuine experience and there's this incredible tension that you can't wait to see resolved.
Grab your favorite stainless steel cup and enjoy these relationships develop and break and stengthen over the course of The Ultimatum.

I'm not into reality shows, but a while ago I somehow ended up watching the Ultimatum hetero version of this. I thought it was absolute trash, with a lot of unstable narcissisticaly inclined participants. However, these lesbians ring truer somehow. This feels more balanced and (most of) the participants seem less unhinged. Although I'll never quite understand what drives people to share such personal stuff on camera with the world entire, it feels like their motives for participating aren't merely a narcissistic thirst for attention. They're quite funny at times too.
As a guilty voyeuristic pleasure, this was entertaining.

Being a fan of Love is Blind and being in between seasons, I was looking for a similar reality show based on relationships, so I thought I would give The Ultimatum: Queer Love a shot. I was hooked from the first episode. I thrive one watching the way people react to one another. The way each relationship is different and the growth. Of course I also love the drama involved. That is what we are here for.
Regardless, watching the dynamics of the couples is fascinating. This show feels very real and not as scripted as other 'relationship' reality shows I have watched in the past. I hope we get another season.

I'm not a fan of reality shows at all, the drama & emotions are usually too over the top & exaggerated for my liking, but I am OBSESSED with this show! I did not expect to get so invested in all the couples & their individual journey of growth. I got really emotional seeing how things evolved throughout the series, following through everyone's discovery of what they want & don't want in a partner. As a queer person myself, I found this show to be one of the best media representation of queer love. And for that I thank the producers & everyone who participated in the show, putting themselves out there so bravely.

This is my guilty TV pleasure. Five short-term and medium-term couples have to decide if they want to marry or breakup. The third option is the hook up with someone else in the group. So evil. ;)
Unlike most other dating reality shows, at the beginning of the series the couples all have to temporarily breakup. They then get the chance to explore dating someone else in the group. And at the end each person has to make a big decision. That's the basic premise of the show.
There's a good ethnic mix, but the age group is quite similar - which makes sense. We have White, Latina, Black, and Asian couples. I'm not sure if the dialogues are scripted or not - sometimes the discussions just seem to be too smooth - and at times I wonder if some of them are actors.
But in the end it doesn't matter. In four lengthy first episodes we get some entertaining drama - jealousies, flirts, doubts, mistrusts, rejections, and affirmations. However, the focus is usually on just a few couples, and nothing much as happened aside from people talking.
So overall I can't give this series more than 6 stars. But let's see how it goes.

I can't tell you how often where I contemplate watching a love or dating show but I always back out and never watch anything because it's always a heterosexual show. It's nice to see different into the queer love lives, versus your typical straight show. Once I scrolled and saw the title on Netflix I started to watch it immediately and I was not disappointed it's everything you look for in a dating show, it also keeps you on your toes and constantly predicting the outcome. Thank you to whoever created the Ultimatum Queer Love, I hope that we can continue to see additional seasons in the future!

Being gay is incredible. I love this show. It's so raw so realistic. The couples truly love each other. I myself have been with my partner for 10 years and I don't see myself being with anyone else. I love her unconditionally but this is an awesome show. It shows us as we are. This woman are so matured. Even with all the cheating they move on. They learn to move on. They put their love above all the bs. The only one who bother me a bit was Yoli but other than that I'm glad she was able to get thru. Years of being with someone knowing them fully doesn't just go away. I feel like destiny picks our partners you don't need to do much. Just be faithful and love them unconditionally because they are there for a good reason. Don't throw it all way for passion.

Gay or straight, Queer or not people can do the dumbest things in a quest for the immortality that television can offer. The premise of the show is that one member of a couple wants to get married the other doesn't. That should really be the end right there. Staying in such a relationship is self defeating behavior. Break it off and get some counseling - OR go on television and show the world.
This is reality television at its - I hesitate to say finest - but most real probably works. It does say something about us as society. Not a good something but something none the less.
Since my mother said to always try to be nice, JoAnna Garcia Swisher in a stunning green gown did manage to keep my attention. Voyeurs will disagree with my assessment and perhaps if you can submit to more than the first episode you will find something of worth - I doubt it.

I liked the show a lot, mainly because there are little to none lesbian reality tv shows.
It was very raw and emotional and represented a lot of real issues of relationships that are very much relatable.
It had an interesting concept, especially since any person could potentially end up with anyone else participating in the show.
I did not like however that almost all the couples consisted of one masc and one fem partner, since this can be a bit of a stereotype, it might be the reality for many lesbian couples but by far not for all.
I also would've preferred a queer woman hosting the show instead of a straight one.
