The North American leg of musician Jack White’s No Name tour is set to kick off in early April and end in late May.

White’s record No Name dropped in July and White spent the following few months touring clubs across the U.S. He proceeded to go to Hong Kong and Vietnam for shows, before embarking on a tour through Australia and New Zealand.

The North American leg of White’s tour will kick off in St. Louis, Missouri, and continue across the country with multi-date shows in various cities, such as Nashville, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. It will conclude on May 24 in Troutdale, Oregon, and White will continue his tour out of the country.

Fremantle has closed a package deal with Spanish streamer Filmin for a slate of premium drama titles, including Swedish filmmaker Tomas Alfredson’s adaptation of Ingmar Berman’s “Faithless” and BAFTA-winning actress Rebecca Hall’s thriller “The Listeners,” both of which recently screened in competition at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Also included in the deal are Victor Levin’s Golden Globe-nominated “Alice & Jack,” starring Domhnall Gleeson and Adrea Riseborough; Series Mania best script winner “Herrhausen – The Banker and the Bomb”; and Series Mania audience award winner “Little Bird.”

“We’re deeply honored to add such high-quality titles to our eclectic catalog, which blends A-list actors and directors with independent productions of great merit,” said Filmin Head of Content and Editorial Director Jaume Ripoll. “Spanish audiences will be captivated by what’s coming next; these are all destined for success.”

In a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Kelly Preston, Ella Bleu Travolta has released her latest single, “Little Bird,” which reflects on her grief and memories.

The song is featured on her upcoming EP, Colors of Love. At 24, the only daughter of John Travolta and Kelly Preston shared in an interview with People magazine that the experience of creating the track helped her feel her mother’s presence.

“I definitely felt [Preston] watching over me,” Ella told People, adding, “I knew that she was really proud of this whole process and of me.”

Matt Johnson’s BlackBerry satirical comedy earned the best movie honor at the Canadian Screen Awards on Friday, which also tapped the Canadian Indigenous TV series Little Bird as the best TV drama.

In earlier prize-giving this week, BlackBerry picked up hardware for best adapted screenplay, cinematography and a best supporting comedy performance trophy for Glenn Howerton. The fact-based feature that bowed in Berlin also awarded Johnson the best director honor, and Jay Baruchel the best comedy performance trophy.

Little Bird, which came into the Canadian film and TV awards with a field-leading 19 nominations, saw Darla Contois pick up the best TV drama performance prize after the series earlier earned trophies for best drama ensemble, best casting and best supporting drama performer for Braeden Clarke.

Screen International has unveiled the shortlist for the second edition of the Global Production Awards which celebrates outstanding and sustainable work in the world of film and TV production, locations and studios.

The awards recognise organisations and companies working in the film and TV industry including studios, production companies, film commissions, location, suppliers and manufacturers and any services involved in film and TV production.

Among the companies shortlisted are Universal, Warner Bros, Fremantle, BBC and Sky.

Reservation Dogs star Devery Jacobs and The Last of Us‘ Lamar Johnson are set to receive special awards at the Canadian Screen Awards.

On Thursday, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television said Jacobs would receive the Radius Award as the actress, writer, director and producer from the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory uses her growing career platform to campaign for indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ rights. In addition to Reservation Dogs, Jacobs stars alongside Alaqua Cox in Marvel’s Echo. She also starred in and produced Backspot, a feature film set in the world of competitive cheerleading.

A Radius Award will also go to Johnson, an actor, director, dancer and artist who received an Emmy nomination for playing Henry Burrell on HBO’s The Last of Us series. Johnson earned a 2023 Canadian Screen Award for his co-starring role in Clement Virgo’s Brother and will also appear in Netflix’s upcoming Western drama The Abandons.

Netflix’s upcoming arctic comedy finally has a name and has rounded out cast, as it goes into production in snowy Nunavut, Canada.

Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril’s North of North began production today. The comedy follows a young Inuk mother (Anna Lambe) who wants to build a new future for herself, but finds it won’t be easy in her small Arctic town where everyone knows her business.

The Canadian indigenous TV drama Little Bird has grabbed a field-leading 19 nominations heading into the Canadian Screen Awards.

The series, which airs on Crave in Canada and PBS stateside, follows Behzig Little Bird, who was stripped of her indigenous identity when adopted into a Jewish family at age 5. As an adult, she goes looking for her indigenous roots and discovers she was forcibly taken from her birth family on the Long Pine Reserve in Saskatchewan by the Canadian government as part of a controversial Sixties Scoop policy.

Little Bird will compete for best drama series. and Darla Contois and Ellyn Jade nabbed nominations for best lead performer in a drama. Little Bird also earned Imajyn Cardinal a nomination for best guest drama performance, and Braeden Clarke grabbed a mention for best supporting drama performance.

Exclusive: The creator of Canadian smash Letterkenny has struck a multi-year content deal with streamer Crave and New Metric Media that Crave’s programing boss says is a first of its kind.

With Letterkenny’s 12th and final season dropping on Boxing Day, Jared Keeso will subsequently make 49 episodes of Letterkenny spin-offs including Shoresy and other potential shows across several years.

Unveiling the news to Deadline, Crave VP Content Development & Programming Justin Stockman said “this is probably the only deal that has ever been done like this in Canada.” The deal does not prevent Keeso from making shows for other platforms, eschewing the golden handcuffs approach taken by some of the major Hollywood players.

Presented at the Cannes Palais des Festivals’ Grand Auditorium, the winners were selected from 165 countries submitted by 27 countries for the 7th edition of the event.

BBC Studios documentary “Inside Our Autistic Minds” won in the representation of disability, non-scripted category. The series takes us inside the minds of autistic people. Co-produced in partnership with The Open University, in the production Chris Packham explores the lives of autistic people across the U.K. and brings their experience to life in short films.

In another high-profile win, the Fremantle-sold “Little Bird” from Canada won in the representation of race and ethnicity – scripted category. Television market MIPCOM in Cannes on Tuesday unveiled the winners for the Diversify TV Awards, which honor international programming promoting diversity and inclusion.

The nominees were picked from 165 submissions from more than 27 countries. To be eligible, programs were required to provide a fair and balanced representation of race and ethnicity, the Lgbtqia+ and disabled communities; to show a positive impact; to stand out in originality and excellence in terms of storytelling, casting and production values; to challenge stereotypes and to have aired tin the past year. “The Good Doctor” actress Lisa Edelstein told TheWrap that until she signed on to play a Holocaust survivor who adopts a native Canadian girl in the PBS drama “Little Bird,” she had “no idea” about the government program called “the Sixties Scoop.”

Public television has held separate collective bargaining agreements with the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA for years. So, while studios and networks this fall faced the ramifications of dual Hollywood strikes, it’s been mostly business as usual at PBS.

Perhaps lost in the conversation about this most unusual fall — in which the broadcast networks tweaked and re-tweaked their schedules in light of the lengthy production stoppage — has been PBS’ ability to keep the majority of its schedule intact.

In fact, according to Sylvia Bugg, PBS’ chief programming executive and Gm of general audience programming, just one program on its fall lineup was impacted by the strikes: John Leguizamo’s “American História: The Untold History of Latinos,” which had been scheduled to premiere last month. Joe and Nick remained straight faced as they were snapped together out in NYC on the same day Et obtained court documents which stated both parties had been prohibited from removing the children from the state.

On Saturday, Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas continued The Tour with a stop in Toronto, Canada. During the show, Joe noticed a fan in the audience holding a sign that read, “Dedicate Little Bird to My Angel in Heaven.”

Joe paused the show for a moment, to speak to the fan from Mexico City, and ask her to reveal her “Little Bird’s name.

Nick Jonas handled an on-stage mishap like a total pro. The 30-year-old musician became so engrossed in his performance on Tuesday night, he made a misstep and fell right into a hole.

The Jonas Brothers hit the stage at Td Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday for the first of two performances at the venue amid their world tour titled simply, The Tour. While singing “Sail Away,” off 2023’s The Album, Nick began walking backwards away from the edge of the stage and stepped into a hole. He dropped down to about waist level before popping back up and returning to center stage, joining brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas to finish the song.

The Jonas Brothers are back on tour, and they're keeping things spicy with a few surprise guests. The brothers kicked off their 2023 tour, aptly titled The Tour, with a sold-out performance at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 12, and the three-hour, 60-plus-song show was a mix of nostalgic favorites and new songs from their album "The Album," which was released in May.

"The Album" is the brothers' first album since 2019's "Happiness Begins," which they also supported with a major tour. Since then, some of the brothers' lives have changed a lot - Joe welcomed two children with wife Sophie Turner in 2020 and 2022, and Nick welcomed his first child with wife Priyanka Chopra in 2022. Meanwhile, Kevin shares two daughters with wife Danielle Jonas - and the brothers all paid tribute to their children with the track "Little Bird" from "The Album."

The Jonas Brothers played their first of two shows at Yankee Stadium in New York on Saturday to kick off “The Tour,” their 90-plus date international live trek.
