Park Guy-young plays Seo A-ri who's once rich family fell on hard times and she now earns a frugal living selling cosmetics door to door. Through circumstances she has the opportunity to become an online influencer, but she soon finds the world of influencers is full of jealousy and betrayal. It starts relatively slow and for the first few episodes we learn a little about the other e celebs and what a nasty backstabbing bunch they are. Then the story picks up with twists and turns and interesting observations about the fickleness of fame and how cruel and thoughtless internet trolls can be. Solid performances from the whole cast, especially the lead and observations which make you think about the nature of fame.

This show was very different from what I was expecting, but still, pretty intresting and entertaining. The story is a bit confusing at the beginning, mainky because the story isn't told in cronological order but it kept me intrested enough to watch the whole show. I feel like last episode was a little bit rushed.. like not all of the reveals and twists were set up properly and it seemed like it was going a lot faster than the rest of the show... especially the identity of "bbbfamous", seemed like she came out of nowhere, i feel like the setup could have been better. Either way I think it's a great show.
Celebrity
This South Korean series delves into the world of the rich and the things they do to hold onto the wealth and prestige they have.
Celebrity starts strong, but by the last episodes plot holes become apparent and it begins to lose its steam. The side plots were mostly unnecessary, and it would have been better if the plot stuck to the celebrity world it began with.
The acting is mostly good save for the characters that express themselves by screaming and yelling. The romance between the lead and her partner was contrived.
The cinematography is rich, and the soundtrack is enjoyable.
6/10.

From the moment I started the first episode I was so captivated and could not stop watching. It was so entertaining watching the secrets and plot twist unfold. This has got to be one of the best K-dramas I've seen in a while! The storyline is different from the typical dramas on Netflix, so it was a breath of fresh air which I very much enjoyed. There was a lack of romance in the show, but it probably wouldn't have fit as the main character was constantly portrayed as a cold person. However, I do wish the main actress had more chemistry or development in her relationship. I'm so surprised the show doesn't have a higher rating, but hopefully with time it will change. I can't wait to see what else the writers and director comes out with next!
I actually enjoyed this one.
Started stronger that it ended but still was very good.
I think the craziness of the social media bullying and how fast opinions of people and fandom changes in korea only makes sense if you actually follow a bit of that world. If you haven't experienced how toxic those fanatics are, you will think this series is just exaggerating a lot, but trust me it isn't. In korea fandoms have ended whole careers just because their favorite idol have started a relationship with someone they didn't like or they have had rumors or bullying someone in school, it's a CRAZY conservative Society, and they act like mobs on social media.
So basically this super thrilling and fast paced drama depicts exactly this social media world in korea, where your can have everything given to you, or taken from you immediately, because unfortunately in these societies it doesn't really matter how talented you are, its all about how much you are liked.
I love the female lead, she has such feisty personality, she is so smart and she won't ever compromise her values. I also love her as actress, I absolutely love all her dramas, ( cant wait for sweet home 2!) and the tension and crazy electrifying attraction she has with the male lead in this drama is just ridiculous, without even speaking. Love them!!
I won't give it a 10 because towards the end they did a couple on nonsensical things that were a bit dumb with the mum and the best friend, I think it could have been a more polished and smart turn in that sense.

Overall, Celebrity is typical in its format. We have the world of the rich which is filled to the brim with individuals who will stop at nothing to get their way, and then we have the main character who is different from the rest - determined to hold on to her morals and shield herself from the evil that awaits her.
If you're looking for a light thriller without much depth, then this is the show for you. It doesn't require you to think - instead, it allows you to sit back and watch events unfold as characters descend further into madness and others take advantage of that, securing their places on top.

This was nothing like I expected! It was about 10 times better than I could have expected! I was hooked halfway through the first episode and almost watched the entire season back to back which I've never done before! The characters were all great and actors all did a fantastic job and even though I watched it dubbed with the subtitles!
The main character did a really good job with the script and her "Leading ladies were fantastic!" They really showed how much social media can take over a person's life and how easily you can lose it all with just a click of a mouse button! What I didn't expect and really loved, was how they showed how they used their friends and people around them to get more likes which equals more followers which equals more money! I have always wondered how people make money off of social media and now I know how!
I was also afraid that it would be too "young" and more childish but it was just perfect. You could enjoyed this at pretty much any age!
If you've ever wanted to see how crazy it is behind the scenes of social media but with a mysterious and one of a kind twist that you know is coming but literally comes out of nowhere, then you need to watch this!

Celebrity chronicles the journey of Seo A-ri (played by Park Gyu-young), who was born rich but is left to do part-time jobs after the family hits rock bottom. From not being on Instagram to becoming the numero uno 'e-celeb,' Seo A-ri's brush with success and the horrors of it is what makes 'Celebrity' such an intriguing watch.
The drama exposes that it is no secret that artificial intelligence and the virtual world are quickly dominating our lives, and will soon become the absolute reality for many, and the consequences that comes with it. Celebrity's' screenplay and writing are refreshing and honest. You can see that the writer is not taking a stand or lecturing you on how social media can become a horror story if you don't set boundaries. Instead, it tells you the very benefits of the platform which is not without its faults. The world can be condescending and conniving without any set rules. But your journey is a result of the choices you make. Right or wrong, is for you to choose.
Apart from standout performance by Park Gyu-young, the rest of the characters were perfectly blended as well. The climax of the show is very fast paced, with all the pieces suddenly solving the puzzle but it was thrilling nevertheless.
My Rating: 8/10.

Although I find this drama quite entertaining and intriguing with all the mystery and revenge plot, there are many holes in the story especially towards the end, which make some of the scenes questionable and absurd.
The characters in this series, aside from the female lead, do not have any character development at all. Most of them are always screaming, yelling, and throwing things every time they're angry or frustrated. Yes, like those scenes in makjang dramas. It was actually tolerable at first, but at some points, it was getting more and more annoying and unbearable.
Park Gyu Young, Kang Min Hyuk, Lee Chung Ah, and Lee Dong Gun fit their character really well. If only the writer took the time to actually give these characters more depth, the story would have been ten times better.
Regardless, this drama is fun and light enough to watch if you just want to pass time.

This was a little confusing throughout the series; first all the influencers were introduced with their husbands and other relations and they were a challenge to sort out, then later the issue of whether the FL is dead or alive - I mean why would she be doubted despite the live streaming, when she is showing up at events all the time? Then later the ending is a little confusing as well with the guy featured at the end. Nevertheless it was entertaining to watch and the ML Kang Min-hyuk was excellent in his role, and kept his coolness throughout - and easy on the eyes for sure. The FL. Park Gyu-young was a great match for him and she also played her role well of the influencer climbing to the top and seeking revenge at the same time turning into the type of person she dislikes by using others. I would have liked to see a little more romance between the ML and FL though.

The actor portraying Jun-Kyung really distracting to me. Instead of depicting a cold yet respectful CEO, he seems more like a lifeless soul. His eyes are like a dead fish's, empty, expressionless, devoid of any spark. The epitome of dead fish eyes. I understand he's aiming for a 'quiet yet cool demeanor' vibe, but it's a total miss. He's like a living mummy, moving but soulless. The most consistent and captivating performances throughout the show are from those playing Si-Hyeon and Jin Tae-Jeon. They both remain consistent in their roles from start to finish, which is truly impressive. On the other hand, the actress playing Seo Ari delivers a decent performance but fails to leave a lasting impression. She's suitable for the role, but unfortunately, her performance doesn't quite steal the spotlight. "Okay" is probably the best way to describe her performance in this show. 'Okay' but not remarkable.

Loved loved loved it! From minute one to the last, this series holds it thrill and suspense and what an amazing take on influencer and hater, how we're so oblivious to the people's life we see online and how they pose online can be completely different from their reality.
How haters are miserable and self loathing in themselves and that self hate gets channeled in a way of trolling the people they obsess online.
How desire turns into greed and it makes a person do the most filthiest things. How someone is absolutely delusional about their wronging and turn a blind-eye towards it until and unless the world makes them see it and they can't escape it anymore.
I cant have enough words for this show, absolutely amazing and an insight on different type of personalities.
#Lovedit.

I found the beginning episodes more entertaining than the later episodes. I was somewhat enjoying the show, but I had to stop watching due to the English dubbed profanity. Normally, I'm fine with a bit of profanity here and there, but I prefer not to hear Jesus/Christ expletives. Not to be judgy, and I understand the Korean translators might not be aware that in some English speaking countries, those words are not pleasant to hear for many individuals. I think it's best to find other ways to express frustrations. Like me, a lot of viewers like K dramas because they're wholesome and heartwarming.

When I started this I was not sure that it would be so good. I mean good quality K drama are lesser these days. And this show was great from the start to the climax. I totally loved it.
Characters to the acting to the glamour everything was perfect. This show makes you keep guessing what will come next. What is ahead. I binged it in a day all the twelve episodes. I am crazy. Haha !
But if you are a fan of scandalous mystery then this show is a must watch for you. And one more thing this show is a visually stunning too besides its good writing. So give it a start and I know you wont be able to resist it binging.

Korean Drama " Celebrity " is a thriller makjang ish drama.
The story is pretty intriguing at first, with masterfully handled pace and flashbacks, as the story is orchestrated in a way as to keep things interesting and the audience wanting more in order to solve the mystery.
However, after a strong start, the progress and development of the story got messy and lazy. The romance, moreover, was just too forced and could have been omitted. The twists were predictable as well and the characters annoying.
The cinematography was impressive though. Lush and glossy, with some darkness lurking underneath it.
The performances, finally, were enjoyable.
So, overall, five out of ten.

"Celebrity" is a captivating and intriguing Kdrama that takes viewers into the alluring and dark realm of influencers. With its intricate storyline and commendable performances, this series keeps you hooked from start to finish.
Kang Min-hyuk delivers an excellent performance as the male lead, showcasing his versatility and cool demeanor throughout. His chemistry with Park Gyu-young, who impressively portrays the ambitious and revenge-driven influencer, adds depth to the narrative. Although more romantic moments between the two characters would have been welcome, their dynamic still engages viewers.
The non-linear storytelling approach initially presents a challenge in understanding the relationships between the characters. However, it ultimately adds to the suspense and intrigue, making each revelation more impactful. The final episode may feel slightly rushed, with some reveals and twists not fully developed, but it doesn't diminish the overall greatness of the show.

South Korea always comes with record-breaking shows but this time they literally said 'Prefection'.
The whole team of 'Celebrity' just killed it. I won't give you any spoilers. You may have watched a scene where the male lead's maid takes his shoes off in an absurd way but the actual logic is completely different so don't judge it because of that one viral clip.
The potential between A-ri and Han Jun is impaccable.
They had a really short screentime but man the chemistry and tension they had was fuckin amazing.
The plot, the suspense and cinematography deserves a straight 10/10.
Don't waste your time just watch it and you will come straight here to give it a 10/10. For now just waiting for announcement of S2.
P. S Already watched it 2 times😂.

With its scandalous allure, Celebrity is a riveting drama that provides commentary on the current influencer culture. The series deftly explores the inextricably linked worlds of social media and celebrity, blurring the lines between them. It delves into the desires and enigmatic transformations of aspiring influencers, revealing their transition to a vastly different existence. It hooks viewers with exceptional performances from its cast, as well as its innovative, original, immersive, and thought-provoking storytelling plot. This series left audiences captivated by its enigmatic portrayal of the influencer phenomenon.
Celebrity begins with the introduction of Seo Ah-Ri, a prominent influencer, who addresses her fans during a live stream, teasing the revelation of Cheat Codes for conquering the world of Influencers. She used to make a living by selling cosmetics door-to-door. When she reconnects with an old friend-turned-socialite, her journey into the world of influencers takes an unexpected turn. Ah-Ri amasses a devoted following and uses it for personal gain through daring maneuvers, only to face the ugly side of it.
Park GyuYoung, who plays the complex character of Seo Ah-Ri with remarkable ease, is at the heart of the series. Her natural personality shines through, resulting in a stellar performance that's sure to captivate viewers. Kang MinHyuk's portrayal of Han Jun-Kyung is nuanced, displaying a compelling journey filled with inner conflicts. The chemistry between them becomes the most intriguing aspect, evoking a wide range of emotions. However, I must say that Lee ChungAh's performance as Yoon Si-Hyeon had the greatest impact on me.
This series delves into a one-of-a-kind and timely topic that pervades our surroundings. However, it isn't without flaws. Ignoring those, the high production value of Celebrity brings to life a world of opulence, fashion, and indulgence, creating a dazzling spectacle. While the series has shades of the popular show Gossip Girls, it has no significant impact on the core plot. This mystery thriller promises a rewarding experience if you can invest in it.

I started watching kdrama some months ago.... And I became a fan of that... I watched a lot of dramas within those months... But this is the first time I'm giving a review... When i started watching celebrity, I thought that, It would be like other dramas. Obviously every drama has their own stories and those are well enough. But I never get that thrill from others, before watching this. This is really different from the others. And I liked it very much. The background music, acting, story lines all are so good. So I'm telling those people, who read my review, watch this once and shear your feelings as well. I just shared my feelings what i felt after watching Celebrity.
