The Vacuum is another horror short film that takes place in broad daylight. I find it refreshing-horror doesn't always need dark spaces where monsters lurk. Sometimes, even ordinary household items and appliances develop a mind of their own. They come to life-and they're not friendly.
Why does this happen? We don't know. But we do see the grim consequences. My guess is that they don't want to be abandoned. They were made to work, and they don't like being ignored-or worse, replaced by something else. In a way, this short film serves as a cautionary tale about that.
The cinematography in this short film is excellent, making great use of the first-person perspective, a technique familiar from creepy doll films like Chucky.
