Just wow! I find fascinating how this show portrays the slow descent of a "good" man into the "dark side" Little by little, the young prosecutor falls prey of his ambition while the lazy, resentful "chaebol" finds his way back to peace... Amazing.
There are loopholes and loose threads but still, this story is a valiant study of human nature. It's addictive and passionate and I gladly overlooked its numerous flaws yo enjoy the ride.
As for the actors, there are few actors in the world so talented and magnetic as Ji Sung. Kudos for his performance in this show. His talent males up for the wailing, overbearing female lead. (I think she's a good actress but here she's just... todo much)
If you are in the mood for an intense and provoking love story, don't miss this drama.
I didn't expect it to be so cool. The plot started fast and from the very first episode we understoond a lot of the story. Concerning the scenario , it was so well-made. Everything seemed to be harmonically connected. The gradually development of every character was the best for my taste.
Moreover , all the peroformances were great! Especially the main leads were so good in their roles. They managed to made us feel their feelings.
In my opinion , the only negative was the plot twist with the child and some repeated dialogues between the attorney and Shin Se Yeon.
It's undoubtable a must watch. This kdrama has everything. Hate , love , friendship , family relationships , death , revenge, betrayal and of course secrets.

You will be surprised about how people can change or maybe they just get to show their true nature?
A very emotional drama. You will love, hate and cry with it.

Looked up for female lead Jeong-eum Hwang, and male lead Seong Ji. Same pairing as in 'Kill me, Heal me'. And wow. Just wow, what a story. Tears! Worst villain ever, simply because you can understand the reasons behind his actions, from his perspective. Your heart will break over and over for the female lead. Recommended a thousand times over.
Wow. I put this on the list for months and finally took the plunge. I was blown away. The first few episodes were so absurd, I was afraid the whole thing would be a soap, but the acting kept me from looking away. I had so many questions and I could not stop watching. The male lead was phenomenal and I loved the intensity. The chemistry between the ML and FL was amazing. There is nothing lukewarm about love, and this story showed all the emotions when each character was trying to act out of love. The emotional range and passion reminded me of shows like Doom at Your Service and It's Okay To Not Be Okay. When the characters comforted each other during their times of distress, you felt the intimacy of love in the deepest way.
I spent every episode questioning why each character did what they did and the writer kept on answering all the questions. The character development was so real and intense. I love kdramas because I get attached to the characters far more than a movie or American show. This show was too short and I would have easily sat through 16 more episodes. This is definitely on my rewatch list and shot up to my top 5 kdramas after watching over 100.

This Drama is well written, with a compelling plot, powerful performances, and a heart-wrenching storyline. But the highly disturbing mis-treatment and abuse of women, the main character in particular, makes this drama almost unwatchable at times. Not even ten years old, this drama is not going to age well. It's a feminist nightmare. Even as a man writing this, I found it appalling how the physical and emotional abuse toward women was conveyed in a matter-of-fact way. I'm a big fan of K-Dramas, but was very disappointed in this drama.
I've been watching Korean TV drama series for the last couple of months and I gotta say, none of them kept me watching till the end curiously. It certainly has very interesting storyline and fantastic drama. Camera work is great, lighting, acting... everything is perfect. The amount of advertising products is acceptable in comparison to other Kdrama series. Anyways, it's highly recommended!

Even after 10 years (this was made in 2013), this drama still stands up to a 10 against all other dramas I have viewed. An amazing chaebol story; full of drama, ML Ji Sung played the character perfectly. He is handsome, determined, smart, a leader, loyal to his father and the business and his love starts with hateful revenge that turns into real love as the story evolves. The woman that goes from revenge to real love, was his fiancé, who he believed killed the love of his life who was also pregnant with his son. The fiancé was dating an attorney behind his back when this happened who is the 2nd ML and turns out to be so ruthless that you hate him so much as a character. The emotions, both hate and love between the ML Chaebol and the FL, just pull you in, and any award they received for this drama stands up to time 2023.

I like the female lead in dramas, she can immediately cry and act really well. In rom coms, I often find her annoying and overacting but she also had great chemistry with her partner. In this kdrama with Jisung, I like her better than in kill me heal me. The story is a cliche but you would anticipate on the next episode and it was really a heart ache drama.
The main cast consists of a toxic abusive man, a pathetic prideless dumb woman, a coward scumbag man, and a useless arrogant woman, all packed up in a horrible utter garbage story. In every scene with FL, she's either crying, abused, or being screamed at. For 16 hours the ML does nothing but abuse her and blame her for existing just because he developed feelings for her.
To get you into the level of toxicity present here, I'll describe to you one out of a hundred awful scenes. A man kisses a woman by force, and while she's trying hard to stop his multiple forced kisses, in the background of this nauseating scene they shamelessly put on a romantic song with lyrics such as "I believe that I love you". What is wrong with you people? Trying to label sexual harassment as some kind of miraculous love, normalizing this kind of behavior! Because oh well he loves her, that's alright then. Physical, verbal, and emotional abuse is not romantic. It is not attractive. How one of the script's writers is a woman is beyond me.
Saying this drama is bad is like saying rape is an unpleasant incident. I wish I could scrub it from my brain and pretend it never existed. It totally ruined Ji Sung for me. I don't think I could bear to see him in other dramas without being reminded of his awful character here.

I am watching this after kmhm. Excellent plot with happy ending. Ji sung's acting is as usually superb. The one mark is deducted for 2 things. I dislike female lead's acting as a tragic and unhappy woman. Wong is by nature a happy woman and she cannot act well in this drama. However, i like her acting in all other drama, especially kmhm where she laugh most of the time. The second thing is the forced kiss in the car. Ji sung is using too much force. In my place this will easily turn to be a crime.
Otherwise, i am satisfied with all other aspects of the drama. The last kiss in bakery is exceptionally sweet. Jisung in an interview said he has eaten lots of bread in the last scene lo.

I always find faults whenever I watch a series, and some of them tend to loose focus at approaching its finale, but this one in particular kept me watching with interest and I dare to say it is a perfect story with a perfect cast.
After more than 10 years since it's been released, I am watching and I am well impressed with the performance of the acting and the originality of the plot.
I wish movies today, would reach this deep level of communication and chemistry. The writer is talented indeed.
If you are looking for a deeper level of connection and a good portion of life story, go for it, you will not be disappointed.

Definitely not your usual Rom Com! I would have rename this "Secrets and Lies", there were so many right up to the very end! One incident and death on a stormy night impacts like a spider web entangling and changing the lives of the four families. And one person suffers the most deeply.
The character development of the two men in this series is the key. The twist of what seems like a "nice decent" ambitious middle class man (Bae Soo Bin) either hiding a dark personality behind his abmitious climb to prosecutor level and possibly a chaebol marriage, or maybe it was circumstances that cause him the descend into the nasty power hungry deceitful person he eventually becomes. With the contrasting ML (Ji Sung) who is originally an unpleasant arrogant nasty chaebol heir that slowly changes into a thoughtful caring loving man who the viewer eventually empathises with instead of hating on.
The FL (Lee Da Hee) is simply a young foolish girl blinded by her love for the prosecutor she takes the rap for his actions and goes to prison where the brutality is not faked. Some of the scenes in women's prison are shocking and unpleasant but necessary, although the way they all become friends on the outside takes some getting used to, but is somewhat understandable as they can only be honest and trust each other (the ex-prisoners).
The slow realisation by the FL that she was never really loved in return after she had suffered so deeply for her ex boyfriend. That he now only saw her as a millstone hanging on her ankle is deeply heartbreaking. The viewer really feels the grief (she cries constantly!) and can empathise with her lost love, lost time, lost child, lost family and lost life and mostly lost innocence. Only when she looses all that does she actually come out of her la la foggy land to reality about people and grow up.
But this is countered by the support and eventual love she receives from her former tormentor, the chaebol heir.
Well written it was a surprise series and would recommend it.

The reason why I watched Secret was that I was overwhelmed by the performance of JÏ Sung and Hwan Jung eum in the outstanding drama Kill me Heal me. Although it is certainly not as entertaining as Kill me Heal me, but it isn't that bad either. You can watch it once. Won't do any harm. While admitting that it has an extraordinary plot, it somehow fails to get a grip of its story. The audience certainly would be left wanting more of the lead cast. This series is enjoyable in parts, unlike Kill me Heal me, that maintained it's consistency till the end. But it won't bore you either. You would definitely want to watch it till the end because of the curiosity the ending of each episode will leave you with. You even will find yourself wiping tears off your face, because certain scenes will get you way too emotional. Love will suffer through out the series, but towards the end it will find its way, which is good because I love happy endings. Overall it is pretty nice show, not the one you would go gaga over. But it's as I said, "subtle and watchable"

I do not know why humankind could taste this film. How could this film be rated 8/10? Dumb director created a main character be too simp for her boyfriend and her reception is very restricted. Till the middle of the film, she realized that her boyfriend betrayed her but her solution is too bad. She did not even know her boyfriend could kill her. Why did she dare to meet face to face with her boyfriend and in a rainy night??? I do not know why people can make compliments on this film, maybe they even do not watch the film or director hired to make that to advance the seeding of the film. I hope Korean film franchise will not make film like this anymore.
