I meant to watch when released nice that there's currently 3 episodes it seems IMDb doesn't update upcoming ones anymore. It's Florida Man is quite wild, goofy, and a little bit of horror vibes unexpected from HBO I love it though! Reminds me of Room 104 that series was full of bizarre stuff mashed in different creators; it's a lovely mix of screwball behavior and a little bit of mtv reality style with better directing. Breaking the 4th wall is nicely captivating/intriguing great how there's true stuff with entertainment value awesome how actors play alternate versions of characters that look fairly similar. I understand the ratings it's a little cheesy yet awesomeness!

The stories themselves are entertaining enough, and the reenactments by various comedians and actors are just a bonus. It harkens back to Drunk History on Comedy Central in its adaptation of the personal stories and narration of the first hand accounts.
The show brings in outside parties like animal experts to enhance the stories.
The Floridians themselves seem proud of the "Florida Man" colloquialism, and they are excited to share their contributions to the stereotypes. Some of the segments are actually quite wholesome since the story tellers are excited and a little proud to tell their tales and earn their place in "Florida Man" history.

"It's Florida, Man," created by Mark Herwick and Jeff Tomsic and released in 2024, is a crime-comedy series that takes inspiration from the infamous Florida Man meme. The series follows the adventures of Mike Valentine (played by Edgar Ramírez), a former cop who finds himself in a series of absurd and often dangerous situations.
One of the series' strengths lies in its ability to blend the absurdity of the Florida Man meme with a classic noir narrative. The plot is engaging, with Mike's character development being expertly portrayed by Ramírez. The series also features a strong supporting cast, including Emory Cohen as Moss, who adds depth to the story.
The production values are high, with a retro-style cinematography that captures the essence of old-school crime dramas. The editing and music choices enhance the tone and atmosphere of each episode, creating a sense of nostalgia.
However, the series does have its shortcomings. The pacing can feel uneven at times, with some episodes feeling rushed and others dragging on. Additionally, the humor may not appeal to everyone, as it relies heavily on absurdity and slapstick comedy.
Despite these shortcomings, "It's Florida, Man" remains a unique and entertaining series. It's a must-watch for fans of crime comedies and those who appreciate the Florida Man meme.
Rating: 7 out of 10.

When I saw that Danny McBride was an executive producer this whole 27 minutes made sense. The interviews being repeated by actors is an old trick. God knows the show would not lead with it's best episode. Florida does have it's idiots much like every other state. We will see what the remaining episodes bring us, but if it Danny McBride expect a lot of gore and nonsense.
Even my my young son came out of his room to say, "what the hell am I watching?"
And he loves everything.
I see what were going for but they missed on episode 1. There are thousands of stories about Florida due to the Freedom of information Act. My favorite is the man in Naples who raised rattlesnakes in his apartment.

I'll admit, the show's premise is weird and dark, but it's packed with amazing comedic actors bringing these stories to life. As of right now the show has released one episode, but it's production value, set dec, and inclusion of the actual people involved in these crazy situations really has me champing at the bit for more!
It's Florida and we are inundated with crazy stories bc of the sunshine law, and I think some Floridians may hate this show, but ignore the negative reviews and get freaky with this great show. Any series or film that has Sam Richardson, Anna Faris, Jake Johnson, and Randall Park will be comedic glory.
If you have a weak stomach or an aversion to dark/blue humor i would say challenge yourself and try to engage, but it might not be for you.
After all it states it's a "Late Night" comedic series.

Prefacing this with the fact that I have watched only one episode and won't be bothering with any more.
So what does this have to do with Florida? Maybe one or more of these stupid people live in Florida...so what? Stupid people are everywhere. Stupid stories are everywhere. I would have named this show "Stupid Stories - Stupid People".
I was really hoping for stories that might be exclusive to Florida, which in itself is a pretty unique place. Gators, Cubans, Mickey Mouse, Canadians.
This show just makes Florida seem the same as everywhere else. I could have watched "It's Idaho, Man" and probably learned something about potatoes.
Don't waste your time, watch Jackass instead.

I am not from Florida and in fact intentionally avoid it, but there is something about people from the Southeastern United States and their unabashed love of telling "big fish" tales of eccentric adventures which are...mostly true...that resonates. This is one of the most recognizable cultural markers of the Old South spanning back to early 20th century Southern Gothic literature.
Here, individuals of this story telling persuasion have the opportunity to unburden their soul or just humble-brag while real Hollywood actors re-enact the story lines with intentional comedy.
The Gator Man is totally awesome.

How much you enjoy this ultra-wacky show depends on how willing you are to watch ordinary people being held up to ridicule for doing extraordinarily stupid things. Told in docu-com style, real-life Floridians are interviewed on camera about their brushes with idiocy while alternating segments starring actors and comics bring their demented deeds to life. Each thirty-minute episode (although the stories move swiftly enough that they tend to seem much shorter) is bizarre, irreverent, cringeworthy enough that you'll want to avert your eyes, and so focused on the worst (or nearly the worst) of humanity that you may want to shout or throw something at the screen. Not a great show but certainly an entertaining one--even if the good folks of Florida may not always get the joke.

No idea why the ratings are low for this flick. Maybe upset Floridians? It's absolutely hilarious. Just finished episode 2 and it was better than the first. The storytelling mixed with the people recounting the story is a great blend of the events with dramatic humor. It makes me think of a "runner up" show to actual Darwin winners. People making terrible decisions. In no way should this show be taken seriously. It's neither a documentary nor satire. It's people sharing a moment in their life that they are not exactly proud of, but it worth sharing for the entertainment value. Watch it. Laugh. Be thankful none of your past mistakes are nearly as bad... and move on.

Being from my the UK we've heard that you can Google Florida man and on any day there's a crazy story. Although I've not done it personal, I do rel over my son showing me, hence why I was pretty much sold in giving it a go.
Then to see the names of cast, production I was and still am enthused to see the next crazy true story, being told but those people involved which helps you believe it's a true story because the comical reconstructions can make you forget that it's not just a story and that it really happened. I've only seen a few episodes but I have been raving about the show to anybody who'll hear me!

I just finished watching "It's Florida, Man", and wow, what a ride! This series perfectly captures the wild spirit of Florida, showcasing the strange and wonderful stories that seem to spring up around every corner.
The humor is spot-on, often making me laugh out loud at the outrageous situations people find themselves in. But what really impressed me was how the show balances the quirky antics with genuine, heartfelt moments. It dives deep into the lives of the folks featured, reminding us that behind every headline is a real person with a story to tell.
The visuals are stunning, too! Florida's beautiful landscapes provide a vibrant backdrop that enhances every story. You can really feel the warmth and character of the state shining through.

Yeah, I know my title may seem like a leap, but I am the highly trained product of thousands of hours of crime, police, spy, forensic, FBI (cough), CSI, Castle / Monk, etc viewing. This has enabled me to connect dots, link the links, and merge the clues. Also to see the sophomoric effort to denigrate the common man, slyly refusing to tell the truth about whether the true story is even true, lie about absolutely everything in the world, and launch the various seemingly innocuous "joke" insults at presumably innocent points in time, like, say, 2024. But karma has prevailed. Like the Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres, the elite snobs are outsmarted by the peasants. Only the plot is no longer on TV. It has come home to roost in real life. The strawman Florida peasant is, in fact, smarter that the entirety of Hollywood. In real life.
"If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less" suddenly has more than a few meanings. Weep some more, my lady.

What a wild ride!!! "It's Florida, Man" is a rollercoaster of chaos, humor, and heart. From the very first episode, this show grabs you by the collar and doesn't let go. The eccentric characters, over-the-top scenarios, and biting social commentary make it a must-watch for anyone who loves a good laugh with a touch of truth.
What truly sets the show apart is how it balances absurdity with emotional depth. It's packed with outrageous moments that'll have you laughing out loud ... but it also takes a deeper dive into the human experience, exploring themes of identity, family, and redemption in a way that's surprisingly heartfelt.
The STACKED ensemble cast is fantastic! Each actor brings a unique charm to their character, making even the most outlandish scenes feel grounded in a bizarre, yet relatable reality. The writing is sharp, witty, and never afraid to push boundaries. It's fearless in its portrayal of the unique, sometimes ridiculous world that is Florida, but there's an undeniable warmth at its core.
Whether you're in it for the wild antics or the underlying emotional beats, this show delivers in spades. If you're looking for something fresh, funny, and utterly unpredictable, this show is a must-see!

Someone saw the pilot at a private screening and was like: hell yeah brother! That person needs to be fired. The title was super promising as its basically an infinite pool of weird and bizarre stories. Comedy gold. Crime gold. The crimedy genre is the most popular thing right now if you ask me, and i personally am hooked to some of the shows like Elsbeth, Slow horses, Murders in the building etc. You can judge a movie or a show by the every first 30 minutes, sometimes even just 10 minutes.
I watched only the first episode but it was more than enough for me to realize this one wont deliver anything fresh. The writing is horrible and dont like the camera work at all, and didnt like the casting. Ill probably watch another episode but i will have to force myself hard to do it.. maybe next year or so.. Too bad, a great idea with a poor execution.

When your in the mood for weird its perfect. Anyone curious about all those real life Florida Man news stories should enjoy this show.
I do have to mention the Mermaid episode seems misplaced from the other episodes and I absolutely could not watch the whole of it. Hopefully going forward that is the worst episode offered in terms of interesting stories.
The recreation of the scenes is done well with the random actors in the other episodes and Kudos to the director for putting this together. I hope it gets the green light for future seasons. The gator episode was my husband and Is favorite episode so far unexpected and unique is the perfect combo.

Only four episodes so far with episode three being my least favorite. That being said, I swear this has made me laugh out loud more than once. Being from the south and knowing all about Florida and its craziness I knew this would be a show for me. Danny McBride is one of my favorites so him being involved, meant it was a must watch. I think you could go to the internet on any day and type in those 2 simple words...Florida Man...and all matter of craziness and unbelievable stories will come up. Watching something years ago and someone was asked what boogeyman they were scared of the most and they jokingly said "Florida Man", because those are headlines all the time, Florida man does this, Florida man does that. I digress, okay so it's a hoot watching these famous actors act out the insane stories. Kind of reminds me of Drunk History which was an absolutely fantastic show! Kudos to the people who decided to get on camera and share their idiotic stories or crimes with the world. It's easy to watch and brings in a little bright spot that anyone should appreciate. Even if you're just relived, at the end, that this wasn't your family or anyone you know doing all this crap hahaha! I don't know why some hate it. Guess they have a HUGE stick up the rump. Or they believe they're intellectually and morally superior to these people and the ones who enjoy watching. Must suck to have no joy left. Anyway it's a fun little series and I hope we have many more episodes!
