First some demographic info. I'm a 64-year-old formerly married straight white male. I like many movie genres, from gore to 'chick flicks'.
This movie popped up in my Amazon recommendations, and I've found a few gems that way, so thought I'd give this a chance after a brief glimpse of the preview. Also, I think Aubrey Plaza generally picks interesting projects, so that was a factor as well. As it turned out, this was an excellent choice. Not only are all performances outstanding, but the story is uniquely done and, while the situation is a bit far-fetched, the film never insults your intelligence or cops out on the ending. The overall message is certainly one worth noting. It's more drama than comedy, though it does give you a hard chuckle from time to time. Highly recommended.

Came across this when it was listed as something similar to another film I watched, though I can't remember which film that was. Saw the rating was decent for a 'horror' film, so decided to give it a shot. As a fan of gore, this turned out to be a real winner, though it was quite difficult to watch compared to other gore films like the 'terrifier' series because it presented a situation that was far more realistic - no supernatural nonsense. Some reviews have complained that the film starts slow, but I didn't feel that way at all, as I thought it set up the eventual outcome quite well. If you aren't a fan of gore, and particularly don't like torture scenes, skip this one. But if you can stomach those, I think you'll find this one of the better revenge films around.
First I'll start by saying that I don't remember much about the previous terrifies, so it's quite possible the storyline in part 3 makes sense, but I didn't enjoy the whole supernatural vibe and f elt it went way over the top like "It" did. Maybe that's a characteristic of killer-clown movies. I also found some of the storyline a bit confusing. For example, I have no idea how the opening scene fits into the film. Seems it's there to simply show some gore. That said, I did enjoy the gore throughout the film and thought there could be even more (perhaps much was cut out in editing).
Overall, I liked the film, but based on my previous ratings, it looks like part 2 was my favorite. I'm not particularly looking forward to part 4 given my dislike of the part 3 storyline, so I'll likely catch it on a streaming platform rather than the movie theatre.
