MackQb's rating
I don't know if kids still chant the words to 'Pete and Repeat' but it ought to be plastered on the walls of the offices of every producer, director, screenwriter, and editor working on a sequel; particularly if it is a sequel to a sequel to a sequel...
'Mad Max' has been a series of ups, downs, and sideways. The original 'Mad Max' was quite good. I don't recall anything quite like it at the time. By the time we got to 'Mad Mad Beyond Thunderdome', we were served up Tina Turner and a near epic song. 'Fury Road' broke from the past and was perfectly paced.
Why did I ever decide to watch 'Furiosa'? I found it to be not worth 148 minutes of my time. Unlike, 'Fury Road' I found this rendition is tedious and predictable.
When I give a 3 rating, that is my idea of mediocre.

One starts with a script.
Add Adrian Brody...
Add Jessie Eisenberg...
Find a director and cinematographer...
Find an editor...
And a film ought to come out the other end.
Given the lead actors, it ought to be a good film or better.
I wasn't expecting to be blown away by a "The Pianist" type Oscar winning performance.
I wasn't expecting to be caught up in it like I was with "Peaky Blinders".
I wasn't expecting to be charmed like I was with "The Social Network".
I just wanted an entertaining movie for a rainy Sunday night.
In reading the reviews, someone referenced it as not a "Fight Club" type movie.
None of those films came to mind. I just saw two impressive actors. I ended up with dreck.

I watched "Barbie" on Netflix. There were so many commercials. In a twist, they were a needed break from "Barbie".
Was it a sweet reminisce of childhood for millions of women?
Was it a comedy with two flat tires?
Do we really need more exposure to caricatures of airhead women?
"I'm not smart enough to be interesting."
How many ways can one film be preachy?
Maybe I don't know what funny is anymore or possibly even slapstick movies of my youth were light handed instead of brash and in one's face.
It reminded me of a cousin trying to convince me that "Saturday Night Fever" was the best film ever.
I'll replay "Casablanca" to clear my head.
In the end, there were way too many commercials.
