If you are here to analyze "Elevation" from a scientific point of view, you will not get far. Explanations are never given, even if directly asked by the characters, physics don't work quite right and people that supposed to help each other survive, seemingly hate each other. Also everybody seem single without "hooking up" with the few options they have, whoever wrote this doesn't know much about human psychology.
How do they survive on the mountain? Why and how do they have so much equipment? Why is there alcohol everywhere they stop? Nobody knows and it's better not to ask too many questions, just sit back and enjoy the monster movie.
Elevation is not scary, but there are a couple of good jump scares and couple of intense chase scenes, fits for a PG-13 tale. The movie just strolls along, it is very linear and very predictable. I wouldn't go to the theaters to see this, but as a streaming movie - it's passable.
I'm rating 'Elevation' a 52 out of 100. While it's fairly mediocre overall, it was entertaining enough that I'd be interested in a sequel, especially if it includes some explanations for the creature and details on how people continue their lives. Peace.

"Smile 2", the sequel to "Smile" from 2022, it intense, gory and bloody, it is not for the skirmish viewers. In what seem to be a contrast to the popular opinion, I think the original Smile had a charm of being psychologically intense, gory at times but not going overboard, in contrast, I think Smile 2 did overdo it. I thought the ending of Smile 1 could have been done a bit better, in contrast, I think the ending (or the final scene) of Smile 2 is even worse, perplexing, not to say pointless.
So, "Smile 2", delivers a lot of gore (plus a couple of excellent jump scares) but in doing so, positions itself into a more mainstream slasher instead of standing out as a smart and unique film like "Smile 1". Maybe that is the formula to attract more viewers to theaters, idk, but if you had to see only one of the two, I would strongly recommend the first one as a genre setter and a trailblazer and not the generic "eat your guts out" sequel.
The story starts slightly after the first movie ends, however if you have not watched the first one you will understand the 'why' later on. The protagonist of this movie is ""Skye", a Lady-Gaga like singer (portrayed by Naomi Scott, who is doing an excellent job) along with great acting from everybody else involved.
Random thought: is it just me or there are a lot of "lady gaga" themed movies around? I'm kinda fed up with these kind of plots, the stereo-typical assistants, and the scene with the dancers was on the verge of making me laugh, I found it to be ridiculous.
Overall, "Smile 2" is a decent slasher, it is hard to stomach sometimes and it is intense with great pacing, however it was inevitable for me to compare it to the first one, and I left the theater disappointed due to the uniqueness that is now gone. Exact score: 64 / 100.
