The Most Reluctant Convert (2021)
Where is Kirk Cameron when you need him?
I felt this film needed more Star Power. Kirk Cameron or Kevin Sorbo could have really made this Christian Tail Wag! Slow Story, but isn't every road to Jesus Christ Our Lord & Savior? Fiction Can be Similar Fact, that is what we have here.
If you thought God is Not Dead 4 was good, then look know further. This will go down as one of the best films in the past 2 months.
If you love joining flocks of sheep and grazing away at the word of Yaweh, then you will be pleasantly surprised and filled with Glory.
Beckett (2021)
North by Northwest kind of vibe, forget these whiney reviews of others that don't like art
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Everything doesn't have to be a Hollywood Blockbuster. The Cinematography was well done in an old style of filming. The tragedy of his loss and guilt was apparent.
There were way too many whiney reviews of people that do not understand the art of Cinema here. Try attending some film classes be for giving your opinion. I feel most of the reviews here are similar to yelpers that have no understanding of film what so ever.
This is worth a watch for sure. John David Washington was brilliant as he always is.
Give it a chance if you are a fan of Cinema.
Utopia (2020)
Not going to waste my time
The Original and British version was a Masterpiece in every aspect.
I do not understand why Hollywood thinks it has to remake and water down true are for the sake of the ignorant masses of the Heartland.
It's not even remotely the same series without the soundtrack of Cristobal Tapia de Veer.
I say next time just buy the rights to the brilliant show and maybe give us another season with the same cast and crew!
Zeroville (2019)
If you are a fan of Cinema, this is a great tribute.
Nice throwback to the golden age of cinema where art was made in the cutting of a film. So many great shout outs to the industry and the hard work behind the scenes.
Also it was wonderfully shot. Time was also taken to set up these scenes.
As for the acting Seth Rogan & Will Ferrell are spot on! I have never been a big fan of Megan Fox, but her beauty fits in this area and she played the troubled actress well.
James Franco, he is an interesting fellow for sure. He plays this roll a bit stiff and that is the way it should be for an outsider that finds his niche in an industry which is so difficult.
Craig Robinson is also a breathe of fresh in his love for film!
This is more of an artistic Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with more depth, less violence, and plenty of panache!
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Worst Godzilla film by far, and one of the worst films of ALL TIME
Pure Drivel. I don't know who is ignorant enough to like this. There is no reason for a family story at the end of the World. This isn't Old Yeller. It was laughable how the parents went from not caring about their kid to risking the world for her. The acting was so over the top, I could not stop laughing how they put an entire fleet and planes in harms way to save a little girl that would have been long dead from radiation and destruction.
The monsters were alright, they should have been much more of the film than this pathetic family story. I wish there would have been more of Mothra and where the hell was Gamera?
If this doesn't get a Razzy, I don't know what will. Seriously the people writing classic Monster films need to steer clear of the Disney BS that caters to the simpletons of this nation.
I almost walked out it was getting so unrealistic and stupid toward the end..
Too bad you can't give 1/2 a star.
Boyz n the Hood (1991)
Thank You John for being a Visionary Director
Boyz N the Hood truly was one of the first films to show what Inner City life was really like and the tough choices that these young men had to face.
This Film changed my life and opened up my eyes to a different life. Growing up in Corn country in the Midwest while this film was in the theatre was a world away. My Sister took me to this film to try and dissuade me from the Hip Hop Culture I was fascinated with. She changed her mind pretty quickly as she watched and learned about another way of life. We both walked out of the film teary eyed and thankful we had shared such a special moment. Life for us in small town Illinois was easy. Life in South Central was something completely different!
A few years later I moved out to Los Angeles and was lucky enough to see and learn things first hand!
The Love, the strength, the drama, some laughs, and complete tragedy are all here. The cast could not have been any better, the soundtrack changed music forever, and the vision rocked the country.
Rest in Peace John, and thank you for sharing your world with us!
