Whereas I would give the original French version of this thriller a resounding 8 stars i'd give this US copy only 5.
It's totally devoid of thrills and momentum !
There is good story in there but they've made such a hash of telling it. Very poor direction and screenplay.
It has good actors too but everybody is 'acting' ....its totally unrealistic. You can't relate to any of them.
As for the Iranian story line well that's just plain bizarre in my opinion ....did nobody take any notes from the French drama ? And to add this to an African story and then that to an Ukraine story ? It just doesn't stack up for me. Sorry.

Once again a production doesn't live up to all the hype. This is a boring , mundane 'thriller' and Frederick Forsyth must be unimpressed with what they've done with his classic story.
It plods along with an adequate performance from Redmayne and totally lacklustre acting from the MI5 bods who are chasing him. God help us if that is the calibre of spy protecting our country.
I'm on episode 6 now and i'm losing the will to live . I can't believe they're stretched the story to 10 episodes. It's turned into a typical TV euro-thriller you'd watch if there was nothing decent on Netflix but i've got this far so i'll persevere till the end.

This could have been really good .....with a good story , good acting , believable dialogue, a great Parisian backdrop and a well-directed production.
Sadly we get a semi-believable storyline ,mediocre acting ,stilted dialogue, Paris with permanently nice weather and a thriller without any thrills.
Sean Harris as the baddie is probably the only saving grace in the whole production but then he's always a good actor to watch.
I can't believe the story has been stretched to 8 episodes? I've watched 3 and I just can't believe it's going to stretched to another 5. All the money spent could have been used to make something much better in my opinion.
