BEWARE: all you Liam Neeson action fans, this is a subtle DRAMA and NOT a hardhitting gangster movie AT ALL. Best suited for an arthouse movie audience!

The good: Liam Neeson is still starring in solid movies at his age. He is still convincingly portraying these old gangster characters with a heart. And this story is all about ageing and nearing the end of ones life and trying to heal family bonds that were long lost. It isnt a riveting drama, but a quite slowburning and subtle one and for those who are interested in this genre it could be worth a watch, but dont expect fireworks!

The bad: I love to see Liam Neeson in his hardhitting old man gangster roles in which he fights and shoots bad guys. But this movie has very little of that and therefore I got a bit bored with it half way through.

NOT suited for the Liam Neeson action gangster fans. Best suited for an arthouse movie audience which likes to watch a subtle slowburning character drama...

No famous musicians or celebrities are being interviewed. No Jimi Hendrix interviews either, we only get to hear and see the recording engineers who built and ran the studio with several Hendrix outakes of recordings that didnt make it to the album. And what bliss to hear those engineers recollect their memories of the birth of Jimi Hendrix' recording room in Manhattan, New York City.

Jimi was always full of ideas which he couldnt immediately translate into work because of the incredibly expensive recording studios which already had costed Jimi a fortune. He didnt like the cold and soulless atmospheres of the usual recording studios either, hence his wish to build one of his own! And so he did!

Jimi's input into the design was especially geared towards the lighting, because he wished to be surrounded by a warm atmosphere, hence his wish to have different light colors available for any mood he was into.

A really fun and detailed look into how this magical Jimi Hendrix studio came to be. Highly recommended for Jimi Hendrix fans! And now I gonna listen to Electric Ladyland, which still blows my mind to this very day!

Now and then I just wanna watch a straightforward B-movie with lots of action. I dont even mind that the actors aint great, I dont even mind that the story might be predictable, BUT I DO MIND when the action and the story becomes completely nonsensical and laughable when it is intended to be taken seriously...

The bad: for example, the first 20 minutes is an attack by 10 criminals at a police van in the middle of a heavy traffic bridge. The criminals want to free the criminal who is inside the policevan. What do they do? They blow up part of the bridge they are standing on themselves! What's the point of that?#@! Completely silly. Then they start shooting innocent bystanders at random. And only after minutes of al that completely hilarious nonsense they actually start to attack the actual police van in order to free the criminal. Ding dong!*(

You gotta see it to believe it how incredibly stupid this storyline is. So you have been warned, if you do want to watch a straightforward action movie, walk on by and never even consider paying for this nonsense.
