The International Conference on Computer-Human Interaction Research and Applications (CHIRA) aims to bring together professionals, academics, and students interested in advancing research and practical applications of interaction design & human-computer interaction. Four parallel tracks will be held, covering different aspects of Computer-Human Interaction, including Human Factors and Information Systems, Interactive Devices, Interaction Design, and Adaptive and Intelligent Systems.
Papers describing original work on advanced methods, prototypes, systems, tools, and techniques as well as general survey papers indicating future directions are encouraged. Accepted papers will be presented at the conference by one of the authors and published in the Proceedings of CHIRA, which will be placed in at least one Digital Library and sent for indexation by the major international indexes.
Submission topics:
Each of these topic areas is expanded below but the sub-topics list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the listed sub-topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related sub-topics are also acceptable, provided they fit in one of the following main topic areas:
1. Human Factors for Interactive Systems, Research, And Applications
2. Interactive Devices
3. Interaction Design
4. Adaptive And Intelligent Systems
Keynote speakers:
CHIRA 2025 will have several invited keynote speakers, who are internationally recognized experts in their areas. Their names are not yet confirmed.

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Transistor, the Instituto de Telecomunicações is organizing a prestigious IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) Mini-Colloquium (MQ), in partnership with the IEEE Electron Devices Society and the AP-MTT-EDS Portugal Joint Chapter, on 16th June 2025, from 08:50 to 13:05, at Instituto Superior Técnico, North Tower, EA2 amphitheater.
Held one day after the Mid-Year EDS Governance Meeting, a biennial event traditionally hosted in Europe, this MQ serves as an educational forum to bring together leading voices in microelectronics. The colloquium welcomes EDS members from academia, industry, and a large student audience.
The MQ will highlight state-of-the-art advances across a wide spectrum of semiconductor technologies, from thin-film transistors and organic photovoltaics to GaN HEMTs, high-K CMOS, and Germanium quantum-dot devices.
No registration is required and a complimentary closing lunch will be offered.
Featured Talks Include:
08:50 - 09:00 - Opening
09:00 - 09:30 - Fernando Guarín, IEEE Division 1 Director:
“100th Anniversary of the Transistor and an Overview of the Semiconductor Industry Today”
09:30 - 10:00 - Luís F. Marsal, University Rovira i Virgili (Spain):
“Next-Generation Organic Photovoltaics: Materials, Stability, and Device Engineering”
10:00 - 10:30 - Andy Kerber, Intel Corporation (USA):
“Reliability of Scaled Metal Gate / High-K CMOS Devices”
10:30 - 11:00 - Hiroshi Iwai, Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan):
“Past, Present, and Future of Integrated Circuits Technologies and Their Development”
11:00 - 11:30 - Coffee Break
11:30 - 12:00 - Benjamin Iñiguez, University Rovira i Virgili (Spain):
“History and Evolution of Thin Film Transistors”
12:00 - 12:30 - Yogesh S. Chauhan, IIT Kanpur (India): “Compact Modeling of GaN HEMTs for RF Circuit Design”
12:30 - 13:00 - Pei Wen Li, National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan):
