From the rhythm of the drummers to the energy of the Brazilian dancers, every moment reminded us of the power of inclusion and unity in the workplace. As Shalinee Hunter, JD, Assistant Director of Equal Employment Opportunity at Caltrans, shared: "It's a good reminder about inclusion. We throw that word out there a lot, but it's obviously more than a word, it's a way of being. It's aspirational. It's about how to be a good teammate, how to treat people the way that they would like to be treated. It's about collaborating; collaborating to be better together. It's about making sure that everyone has a voice at the table." Caltrans’ Electric Vehicle Transition and Infrastructure 🚘⚡ Caltrans is taking bold steps toward a cleaner future by electrifying our fleet and expanding EV charging access across California. Here’s what we’re doing: 🔷Caltrans is funding private sector infrastructure through grants and incentives to support electric vehicle adoption. 🔷Charging stations are being installed along state highways at gas stations and retail lots where drivers already stop. 🔷The department currently has 13% of its 12,000 vehicles powered by electricity: prioritizing safety, performance, and sustainability. Together, every division at Caltrans, from Human Resources to Maintenance to Planning, is advancing California’s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation future.
