📈 Building a strong, competitive compensation strategy is no easy feat. To build a strategic compensation plan, HR and People teams must balance fairness, data-driven insights, and seamless integration with existing tools. Here's how Carta can help: ☑️ Prioritize reliable data for fair, competitive compensation: Avoid data overload and focus on high-quality, industry-standard data for precise compensation benchmarks. This makes comp plans accurate, fair, and easier to understand and approve for executives. ☑️ Align compensation with business goals through transparent forecasting: To gain C-suite buy-in, ensure comp strategies support broader business goals. Use forecasting and reporting tools to provide clear insights into spending and the financial impact of compensation, building trust with execs. ☑️ Opt for plug-and-play solutions to simplify platform adoption: Minimize disruption by choosing a compensation platform that integrates seamlessly into existing systems. This streamlined approach optimizes without overhauling, easing executive concerns around new platform adoption. Ready to turn comp challenges into comp wins? Co-Founder & CEO @Deel (We’re growing!)

Deel's first-ever State of Global Compensation report is out today! As a payroll & HR platform in over 150 countries for 35k+ cos and 300k+ workers, we’re in the unique position of providing a global view of how people around the world are getting paid 💸 We’re committed to giving founders, HR leaders, and the industry at large a better insight into compensation practices so they can attract the best talent and grow their businesses faster. A few interesting trends: 1/ The US economy, especially the tech sector, seems to be rebounding in terms of compensation. New workers are getting paid more than 18 months ago. It looks like strong demand for AI skills is pushing the pay up for qualified talent. 2/ US, UK, and Canada are the clear compensation leaders across technical and non-technical roles. 3/ The gender pay gap is still sadly unsurprising, but it’s narrowing for certain roles and in countries like India, US, and UK. In performance-driven roles like Sales & Marketing, we see a much tighter gap, proving that when measured per performance, gender isn’t an issue. 4/ With help from our partner Carta, we see that equity can be meaningful for eng roles. Per their data, software engineers get 75-150% of their salary as equity grants, which tend to vest over a 4-year period. Compensation is a key part of Deel, and we’re quadrupling our efforts on this front next year. Check out more insights in the report: https://lnkd.in/dU-4ANWA We hope it will serve as a useful guide as you continue hiring and managing global talent 🌎

The growth of SPVs is reshaping private markets, with formations on Carta up 31% over the past three years and 116% compared to five years ago. Our inaugural SPV Spotlight provides our most comprehensive view yet, drawing on data from over 2,400 SPVs formed since 2016. Unlike traditional VC funds, SPVs typically invest in single assets, operate on shorter timelines, and often involve fewer LPs—meaning they can yield returns faster but require a unique approach to risk. Key insights include a near-doubling in median SPV size from $1.18M in 2016 to $2.17M in 2023, and a rise in management fees, now charged by 67% of SPVs over $10M in assets, up from 41% in 2021. The SPV Spotlight report highlights these trends and more, helping investors navigate the evolving SPV landscape. #SPV #SpecialPurposeVehicle #VentureCapital #PrivateMarkets

As broader investment activity across the VC industry has increased over the past decade, the use of SPVs among institutional investors has expanded, too. Compared to three years ago, the annual count of new SPVs formed on Carta is up 31%. Compared to five years ago, it’s up 116%. Despite that growth, this segment of the private market can be opaque. How large do all these SPVs tend to be? How many investors do they have? What sort of fees do they charge? We published the inaugural edition a new report today—the SPV Spotlight—that can provide some answers. Here's one insight: As the number of SPVs being formed has gone up, the typical size of those vehicles has gone up, too. The median size of SPVs on Carta was $2.17 million in 2023, compared to $1.18 million in 2016. Was fun to work with Peter Walker, Michael Young, and the rest of the team on this one—check the link in the comments for the full report.

📢 Carta Acquires Tactyc: Transforming FP&A for Fund CFOs We’re excited to announce the acquisition of Tactyc, venture’s best fund forecasting and portfolio construction platform. Fund managers have consistently called for integration between Carta’s data and Tactyc’s portfolio modeling, which speaks to Tactyc’s reputation for delivering high-quality solutions. With this acquisition, we aim to fill critical gaps in financial planning and analysis for private fund CFOs—a sector that has historically lagged in finance tools. Soon, Carta fund admin customers will be able to directly integrate portfolio company financial and cap table data as well as general ledger data into Tactyc’s planning and forecasting tools, allowing funds to make informed, real-time decisions on their fund. This partnership brings us closer to building a truly comprehensive suite for private fund management, and we couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead. We’re thrilled to welcome Anubhav, Michelle, and Shane, as well as their customers and investors, into the Carta family. Hear more from Henry Ward about our latest acquisition in the video below.
