    Chief of Staff at Buffer

If you've read, liked, or commented recently, this is for you. I want to say a genuine thank you to the whip-smart and uplifting community here for helping me find my way back to the fun of social media. My sharing muscle had atrophied pretty badly recently, despite my deep belief in the power of transparency (and, of course, the existence of all the great tools out there to help plan, create, and schedule content, like Buffer!). I used to love sharing articles, stories, and questions on Twitter; I had a pretty vibrant online community there. When Twitter changed practically overnight, I found myself lost - my online community had been fractured, and I didn't see my values reflected in many social media platforms. For years, I thought of LinkedIn as "networking" - ugh. But now that I recognize how much this platform has changed and grown, I'm, much to my own surprise, finding my fingers tapping that blue icon more than ever. I'm so enjoying following along and chatting with y'all, and being encouraged and/or gently challenged in the comments. Thank you for sharing your stories, welcoming mine, and reminding me how fun the internet can be. That's all. 🫶

At Buffer, we don’t just build for creators, we build with them! 💙 Over the past few months, our Senior Product Manager, Nathan Nannenga, met with over 30 Buffer users across industries; from solo creators to growing teams, to learn how they plan, create, and publish content. What he found was both humbling and inspiring: ➡️ Many still see Buffer primarily as a scheduling tool. ➡️ Organizing content across drafts, ideas, and scheduled posts is harder than it should be. ➡️ Simplicity and visual clarity matter more than complex features. ➡️ AI should support creativity, not replace it. These conversations are shaping how we evolve Buffer; from a scheduling app into a true social workspace where you can brainstorm, organize, publish, and engage all in one calm place. Nathan shared the full story (and what’s next for Buffer) on the blog. 🔗 Full scoop: https://lnkd.in/eahZqfF4

I'm trying my best to reply to every single comment I get on LinkedIn, unless it's clearly a bot. I do the same on other social networks too. If someone takes the time to comment a post, they deserve a reply! And it's a great way to extend the lifespan of your posts. I'm currently sitting at a comment score of 🟢 77/100 for LinkedIn. The calculation is based on: • How quickly I reply • How many comments I reply to • How consistent I am If you haven't checked your comments in a few days, this is your reminder to go do that! P.S. Diego Sanchez, my friend and PM counterpart, is one of the brains behind the comment score. He might have more to share!

Senior Software Engineer @ Buffer | Engineering Management, Engineering Leadership

🆕 I'm kicking off an experiment 🧪 Every week I'll be sharing what I'm building at Buffer. The wins, the bugs, the security patches nobody sees. Real engineering work, unfiltered. Here's to the first week: 🌚 Dark Mode: Mission Accomplished 🎃 This week was all about the polish—fixed those pesky images and elements that weren't playing nice in dark mode, cleaned up some styling rough edges, and is finally here: Dark mode is officially "just mode" now. 🎨 Making Buffer prettier, one illustration at a time Rolled out custom illustrations across login, empty states, and upgrade paths. Out with the generic stock art, in with designs that actually feel like Buffer. Bonus: they look great in both light AND dark mode. ⬆️⬇️ The Queue is getting smarter Ever wanted to instantly move a post to the top or bottom of your queue? We're testing this internally right now! Added a reorder menu and can't wait to test this out more broadly. 📟 This week I'm On-call 🚨 So between shipping features, I'm also troubleshooting a few production hiccups. It's all part of the job—you learn the system deeply when you're the one keeping it running. 🔒 The not-so-glamorous (but important) Patched an Axios vulnerability Added PostHog integration for Session Replays. We are going to be trialing this out Building in public means sharing the whole picture—the flashy features AND the security patches that nobody sees but everyone needs. Got questions about any of these updates or curious about how we approach something at Buffer? Drop a comment—I'd love to chat! 💬 #BuildInPublic #WebDev #ProductDevelopment #SoftwareEngineering
