We’re turning Vertical Tabs upside down! The “New Tab” button is now at the top of the vertical tab strip instead of the bottom. Your newest tabs are there too. The flip makes browsing feel more intuitive. Placing the “New tab” button at the top means less cursor travel when opening new tabs. The order in which tabs appear also follows that logic, with new tabs appearing directly beneath the “New Tab” button. We also introduced a few more quality-of-life improvements: • The current active tab is now much easier to spot with improved contrast. • Hover over a Tab Island to reveal a new + button to add more tabs.  • Closing tabs in collapsed mode is now easier, with fewer accidental closes.  • Drag one tab onto another to instantly create a new Tab Island. Update Opera One and let us know what you think! Read more here: https://opr.as/9sbl

We're proud of the browsers we make, particularly across mobile. Most people download a browser once and never touch a setting again. A few small tweaks change that. Here are five worth making in Opera for Android: 🔹 Make the Start Page yours: Customize Speed Dials, wallpapers, themes, and move the address bar to the bottom for easier thumb reach. 🔹 Turn on the free VPN: No subscription, no separate app, no account needed. 🔹 Block ads and trackers: Load pages noticeably faster while saving mobile data. 🔹 Let Opera AI do the reading: Summarize a long page instantly or ask questions about it directly. 🔹 Tame your tabs: Group tabs into Tab Islands and switch between Carousel, Grid, or List views. At Opera, we build for the fan who has the most to lose from a bad connection. Turns out, that makes the experience better for everyone. Millions of Opera users are some of the most passionate football fans in the world, many following the Premier League on patchy or expensive connections. The Football Hub was built with them in mind, and it's faster and lighter for every fan because of it. Here's the thinking behind it: https://lnkd.in/djcuQaGE #OperaMini #OperaForAndroid #PremierLeague #MobileUX #Browsers

As one of the pioneers of the Web, Opera has always believed in fighting for user rights and a fairer competitive landscape. We put ourselves out there because we believe in user choice - every Opera user has made the choice to use Opera, after all. The EU Court has ruled on our challenge to the Commission’s decision not to designate Edge as a gatekeeper. The ruling, which is subject to appeal, upheld the Commission decision. For now, nothing changes - PC users are still denied the same freedom of choice that mobile users enjoy under the DMA - but the conversation is ongoing and the Court leaves the door open for the reevaluation of Edge by the Commission based on current facts. The EU has made significant strides towards protecting user choice and improving competition among tech companies, and we will continue to work with other browsers and our partners at The Browser Choice Alliance to also make Windows a great platform respecting user choice. https://lnkd.in/e_zfMXyG

When one tab turns into many, Vertical Tabs keeps every tab title in view. Vertical Tabs moves your tabs into a vertical strip along the side of the browser, so every tab title stays visible. That makes it quicker to spot the page you need and easier to keep moving between tasks. With Vertical Tabs, you can: • Stack tabs along the side of the browser • Keep every tab title visible • Find the right tab faster Tab islands work with Vertical Tabs, too. Create and customize them as usual, and they'll stay intact when you switch between horizontal and vertical layouts. Also new in the Opera One browser: Google Lens in Opera just got a dedicated button on the start page. Search using an image to find the original source, identify objects, places or products, extract text, or learn more about what’s on your screen. Read more here: https://opr.as/259fdc
