Introducing Orion-1, the leading frontier model for cyber defense. Orion-1 scored higher than every frontier model tested including Opus 5.5 and Sol 6. Artemis runs millions of defensive operations across enterprise environments. We post-trained Orion-1 for the type of defensive work Artemis runs every day: threat detection, threat hunting, investigation, and incident response. Orion-1 reads security data, works out whether it describes an attack, and backs that conclusion with evidence. To measure whether those conclusions can be trusted, we built Decision-Grade Readiness, a new benchmark that asks of every decision whether a senior security engineer would trust it enough to act on. On the first five tasks we measured (threat detection, investigation, attack reconstruction, threat hunting, and correlating activity), Orion-1 scored higher than every frontier model we tested. Orion-1 runs inside Artemis today, in private preview for a small number of customers, with broader availability to follow. We go deeper on how we trained Orion-1, the benchmark, and what comes next in our blog: https://lnkd.in/gFgKAC5q/?utm_campaign=Orion-1Launch&utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=paid&utm_id=1220484686&hsa_acc=522780202&hsa_cam=1220484686&hsa_grp=910738546&hsa_ad=1640221366&hsa_net=linkedin&hsa_ver=3

I met Nilo Rahmani and Jennifer Rahmani back in 2022, and wow, have they given me reasons to keep cheering since then. Having them at the Lockstep office with Lucas Moody reminded me how far they’ve come. These two sisters and co-founders of Thoras AI bring so much technical depth, determination, and heart to what they’re building. Thoras AI is the autonomous operator for compute infrastructure, solving a problem anyone running in the cloud knows well: staying reliable without paying for capacity you don't need. As AI accelerates how fast teams ship, infrastructure has to keep pace on its own, and Thoras makes that possible by letting compute predict demand, prevent failures, and optimize cost by itself, laying the foundation for the next generation of efficient, self-operating infrastructure. What makes me especially proud is the patience and conviction they’ve brought to getting it right. They’ve taken the time to refine the product, prove it works, and build the right models to support scale and future growth. That work takes discipline, especially when there’s so much pressure to move faster and announce the next big thing. And through it all, their resilience has stood out to me. Building a company asks so much of you, and my admiration for these women has only grown since we first met. I’m so proud of you both, Nilo and Jen. As a woman in tech, seeing two women build something this ambitious means a lot. As someone who’s known you since 2022, getting to support you makes it even more special. ❤️

For episode seven of Coffee with CISOs, I sat down with Arteesha Bosamia, Regional Security Manager, Americas at Dentsu ☕️ She shared what she’s learned from growing within the same organization for 8+ years, moving from London to the U.S., building an internal security assurance function from the ground up, and stepping into leadership. One theme that really stood out: security should be an enabler, not an enforcer. That means understanding what the business is trying to accomplish, building security into conversations from the beginning, and helping teams navigate risk without simply becoming the function that says “no.” Throughout our coffee chat, she shared: ◦Why the next generation of security leaders needs to be involved earlier in business decisions ◦The growing challenge of shadow AI and employees building with AI faster than security teams can assess it ◦Why making security personal is one of the most effective ways to build a stronger security culture ◦Her people-first approach to leadership and why leadership isn't defined by a title ◦The career advice she wishes she had received earlier: invest in your network As Arteesha put it, networking isn’t about what someone can immediately do for you. It’s about building genuine relationships, creating opportunities for others, making introductions, and finding ways to add value over time. Thank you, Arteesha, for sharing your story, perspective, and advice with the Lockstep community. I'm so grateful to have you as part of it! ❤️ 🎥 Watch the full episode now on our Lockstep YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/eBEAd-Te #CoffeeWithCISOs #Cybersecurity #Leadership #WomenInCyber #LockstepVentures

  • Always great to see so many familiar faces from the Lockstep community in one room. ❤️ Last week, Upwind Security hosted an intimate evening with Joe Sullivan and our very own, Rinki Sethi, for a fireside chat on leadership, resilience, and navigating some of the toughest moments that come with being a security leader. A huge thank you to the Upwind team for bringing everyone together, to Joe for sharing his experiences so openly, and to Rinki for leading such a thoughtful and candid conversation! We loved seeing so many members of the Lockstep community there and are already looking forward to the next one. #LockstepVentures #LockstepFoundry #CISOCommunity #CybersecurityCommunity #Resilience #Leadership

Last week, we brought together an intimate group of security leaders, where Upwind Security CISO & CSO Rinki Sethi sat down with Joe Sullivan for a fireside chat about leadership, pressure, and what resilience really looks like when the stakes are high. 🔥 Joe brings a perspective few people in cybersecurity can. He began his career as the first federal prosecutor in Silicon Valley dedicated full-time to cybercrime and later led security at Facebook, Uber, and Cloudflare. Over the years, he has seen cybersecurity from the courtroom, the boardroom, and some of the most challenging moments a security leader can face. Thank you to Joe for sharing so openly, to Rinki for leading such a thoughtful conversation, and to everyone who came out and spent the evening with us. We love creating space for conversations like these, where security leaders can learn from people who have been there, share openly, and learn from one another. ❤️

Winter is coming. Over the past few months, Snowflake Coco has been one of the fastest rising requests on the PromptArmor platform. And as Coco goes more agentic, their supply chain of skills, MCP connectors, plugins and more expose new attack paths. I'm proud to share that today PromptArmor and Snowflake have partnered to mitigate risks for our shared enterprise customers. The goal is simple -- accelerate secure AI adoption at the enterprise, by making Snowflake secure by design and having a joint approach to sharing actionable improvements for Snowflake customers. More details in the comments.

For the last 18 months, we’ve been building, learning what the market needs and where the offensive cyber security is headed. Today is a big day for us all. FAZE Security, is coming out of stealth, and strong. A new name, a new brand - designed to reflect our evolved offering, ~20x growth in ARR over the last 18 months, an expanding team and a seed round of $6M led by our partners at New Era Capital Partners and Lockstep. FAZE is the Offensive Security Orchestration platform.  The industry has spent a decade getting better at finding vulnerabilities. FAZE orchestrates what happens next. We deliver agentic red teaming that finds, exploits, chains, prioritizes, fixes, and continuously validates across any asset, environment and attack scenario. One orchestrated platform, closing the loop – from find-to-fix, faster. We’re solving real enterprise customer challenges, building in partnership and moving fast to deliver the industry’s most complete AI native orchestration platform, helping our customers preempt their attackers and become continuous, active defenders.
