    🚨 The monetization stack is still fractured. RevOps lives in cleanup mode. Finance stuck in tactical invoicing. End customers can’t self-serve upgrades or in-app billing. This is why a unified CPQ + Billing + Metering architecture matters more than ever.

    Brought together ~10 CFOs and finance leaders with our friends at MonetizeNow last night. High level theme was hype vs reality on AI in the finance stack. But topics ended up ranging far wider including the fundraising market, the Palo Alto heat wave, traffic patterns in the bay area, parenting advice, and how to pull off an epic proposal. A few other highlights from the folks that came: 👇 - Ayush Aggarwal had some hot takes on agi - Laurent Saurel had gone really deep with financial modeling with a new AI in excel tool - Edward Sharp gets credit as the only person that had built his own custom GPT - Sabrina Yeh gave us all a preview of what's coming down the line at Citizen (if you don't have this app, you need to download) - Sandra Smith had great taste and recs for what finance events are worth going to in the bay area - Paul Machle had some of the best war stories from his career across tech companies like GitLab and several others + is apparently one of the best pickleball players in the bay area. - thanks to John Carter, I know a lot more about gaming than I did coming into this dinner. --- Great conversation. Good people. All you can really ask for with these things. Thanks to Sandeep Jain for being the reason this dinner happened in the first place. Thanks to David Moon for actually booking a good restaurant and making it look like I have good taste. More of these dinners to come.
