Last week I joined The Toy Association's DC Fly-In to make the case directly to legislators — toys play a critical role in child development and contribute to the U.S. economy. #STEM toys like #SnapCircuits build problem-solving skills before kids ever set foot in a classroom. Industries that don't advocate for themselves don't get advocated for. (Also: getting to ride in the underground Capitol subway that whisks senators between their offices and the floor? Genuinely one of the coolest experiences!) Grateful to Greg Ahearn, Kathrin Belliveau, and the entire The Toy Association team for organizing — and to the colleagues I spent the day with: Glenn Abell, Tania L. A group of passionate fans calling themselves the Push Pop Army has been mobilizing on TikTok with one mission: bringing back Cotton Candy Push Pop. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and increasingly hard-to-ignore videos have now reached the highest levels of Bazooka leadership. It’s a fun example of how consumers can take a brand conversation in a direction we could never have scripted. It strengthens the way students think, create, and solve problems.💡 A recent study found that students participating in hands-on STEM activities demonstrated stronger creative and computational thinking skills than those taught through a traditional curriculum. Their performance also continued to improve throughout the five-week intervention. Although this study focused on secondary students, its message reinforces the importance of building these skills early. In elementary STEM classrooms, every investigation, design challenge, coding experience, and opportunity to revise an idea helps children become: 🔹 Creative thinkers 🔹 Confident problem-solvers 🔹 Collaborators 🔹 Resilient learners 🔹 Innovative designers When students develop positive attitudes toward STEM, they become more willing to experiment, take risks, and apply their learning to real-world challenges. This is why hands-on STEM education matters— especially during the elementary years, when curiosity is growing and students are beginning to see themselves as capable creators and innovators. Anthony Trani liked thisAnthony Trani liked thisAs we finalize preparations to showcase the future of play at the LA Toy Previews, we’re excited to announce an exciting new step for Ravensburger North America and Ravensburger México: the two companies now exist under a new regional umbrella, Ravensburger Americas. The new Ravensburger Americas structure enables us with opportunities to build stronger regional collaboration, expand portfolios, speak with a single voice, and consequently improve our offer to consumers in all three markets. This move allows the Mexico team to stay exactly where it's always been - close to our partners and our community, driving the day-to-day business under the leadership of Jaime Solana. What changes is the structure behind it. This change will provide access to more resources and more products through closer collaboration across the region. Established day-to-day operations and contracts with business partners and distributors in Mexico will not be changing during the current cycle. "This is a natural step in a growth journey we've been building for years. The team behind our success in Mexico stays the same, but we’ll now also have access to the fantastic team at Ravensburger North America, accelerating our business growth here in Mexico," says Jamie Solana, who leads Ravensburger Mexico.
