Taylor Kain shared thisSuper excited to announce Databricks has joined the NVIDIA Open Security Alliance.Taylor Kain shared thisDatabricks joins the Open Secure AI Alliance to advance AI safety and security, alongside NVIDIA and other industry leaders. The alliance is built on a simple but powerful premise: AI safety and security research should be shared openly, and the tools it produces should be built on open systems. Databricks brings governed data, model and agent capabilities, and open tools and frameworks for security, governance, red teaming, and cyber defense. Taylor Kain shared thisCheckout the latest ebook from Dave Herrald and I on how to outpace AI-Zero Days. This will also be the featured topic of our CISO roundtable at Black Hat next week. This has been the #1 topic customers and prospects bring up recently…Taylor Kain shared thisAI can discover and weaponize vulnerabilities in hours, while many security teams still operate on patch cycles measured in days or weeks. This eBook shows how a security lakehouse approach can help teams: • Consolidate vulnerability data, SBOMs, asset inventories, and multicloud telemetry on an open, OCSF-native foundation • Use defensive AI agents for triage, exposure assessment, telemetry hunting, and an initial pass at detection rules • Compress the exploit window with real-time analytics and multiyear searchable retention at up to 60% lower TCO Download the eBook: https://lnkd.in/g8wbPHJv

Taylor Kain liked thisEnjoyed watching the US Open with SecurityScorecard and the talented team at Anthropic, which hosted fellow security leaders. A couple of quick thoughts from the stands. There are an increasing number of parallels between tennis and cyber today. Like any good tennis pro, we threat model and study our advesary tactics and techniques. But even with that knowledge, no player knows where the next attack (serve) is going land or how defenses will hold (the return). Even when we are proactive and prepare it is impossible to predict your opponents next shot. That is why pros don’t only practice with a ball machine and why we security leaders have moved alway from static and reactive solutions. To win, using the right AI model/tool for the job matters, but only if you have the right strategy. In the same way, it wasn’t Navone’s racket or shoes that beat Djokovic. And as much as we want to bake in deterministic defenses to improve control, AI cyber is probabilistic by nature, and so are today's AI driven threats. We will win more cyber battles by being proactive and adaptive in our defenses, not with perfect prediction.

Taylor Kain liked thisThis is awesome! I do use Genie many times in every meeting I'm in now. Most of the time from my mobile phone. I always have follow up questions (numerical, business, etc). I used to ask them in the meeting and it'd slow down the meeting, now I just submit these in the background and get my answers.Taylor Kain liked thisAs SVP of Finance at one of the fastest growing companies in the world, I use Genie every day to run our financial operations. I just had an issue resolved 98% faster compared to pre-Genie workflows. 3 hours ago, I noticed two of my go-to dashboards were out of sync - a common single source of truth issue for any finance team. Given I'm in Asia, this problem would have taken 2 days to resolve: requiring me to send an email to the US-based data engineering team overnight, have numerous individuals diagnose it and 1 or 2 days later the fix would appear in the dashboard, a frustrating delay and expensive resolution. Instead in Genie, I did a pretty simple query: "I'm trying to reconcile the total $DBU from the $DBU Finance dashboard and the Record Book. They are usually the same but in the last few weeks a small delta has emerged." (note $DBU is our internal measure of consumption). Within 60 seconds, Genie gave me the answer (and a quite ironic one as you can see below 🚀 ) - it was able to create a complete replica of the old dashboard with this fixed. Additionally, it went ahead and proceeded with my approval to submit a ticket to have the original table updated. My team is ready to talk to any other finance execs who would like to have the same power at their fingertips! 2 days to 60 seconds! It is truly game changing.

Taylor Kain liked thisTaylor Kain liked thisToday is my last day with Google. After 7+ amazing years (2,629 days … anybody cares?), my Google journey is officially coming to a close! From Chronicle Security (circa 2019) to Cloud Security Podcast by Google to Autonomic Security Operations (ASO) to SAIF to AI governance, and way too many CISO meetings to count, it’s been an incredible ride. I was happy to share parts of it with incredible people. May your logs always be centralized (or: federated, when necessary) and your detections autonomic! The new journey begins ... soon!

Taylor Kain liked thisTaylor Kain liked thisA couple weeks ago, our team got together to plan what’s next for CustomerLake. One thing I keep noticing at Databricks is that there’s a relentless culture of self disruption. It’s not “we built something great, let’s protect it.” It’s “we built something great, now how do we beat it?” It’s rare. And honestly, very fun to be a part of. Couldn’t be more excited about where this is going, and grateful to be building with a team this sharp.

Taylor Kain liked thisTaylor Kain liked thisI’ve been lucky to work with some incredible founders throughout my career. But Ali Ghodsi’s ability to see around corners is unmatched. He has a rare gift for identifying new markets early, redefining what’s possible, and executing with relentless drive. I get to learn from him every day, but his influence extends far beyond Databricks. So I’m proud to share that TIME just named Ali to the 2026 #Time100AI list. This is the group reshaping the world with AI, and we’re just starting to see the impact. Congratulations, Ali! https://lnkd.in/gxA_NtuW
