Remember when I teased that it wasn’t a question of if, but when we’d bring point-to-point driving to Germany? Well, here we go: MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO will be available to order in Germany from the first half of 2027. [Pause for celebratory noises]
And even better news for customers in Stuttgart and Munich: From the end of 2026, selected customers with suitably equipped Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be contacted individually and get the chance to experience the system early via an Over-the-Air (OTA) update. Their real-world experience will also help us continuously improve the technology.
And I’m honoured to have Chancellor Friedrich Merz join Jensen Huang and me in celebrating this incredible milestone. We’ve been working closely with NVIDIA to bring this technology to the streets of Germany, following its introduction in the US. Not only is Mercedes-Benz the inventor of the automobile (trying to mention this every chance I get), but now we’re also the first car manufacturer to offer advanced Level 2 automated driving in Germany. This launch underscores our determination to play the leading role in automated and assisted driving.
Even though we’ve been talking about point-to-point driving for a while now, let me just quickly jog your memory about what it means. MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO gives our customers a new level of comfort, intelligence and confidence behind the wheel. Availability will, of course, depend on the model, but we’re rolling it out across both our passenger car and van portfolio.
Most importantly, though, thank you to everyone who worked so, so hard to make this possible. What an incredible achievement!
