Nickelodeon, referred to as Nick in shorthand, is a television channel owned by Paramount Skydance aimed at children aged 2 to 17. It has created and aired many famous television series such as Double Dare, The Ren & Stimpy Show, All That, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko's Modern Life, Blue's Clues, and its flagship IP SpongeBob SquarePants. Nickelodeon has done some promotions for the Super Mario franchise. It also runs the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, which has given many awards to Super Mario games, films, and characters.

References in the Super Mario franchise[edit]

In Nancy Blair Griffin - Media Lab, Studio LA, Donkey Kong discusses Rugrats with Nancy Blair Griffin.

Additionally, characters from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series appeared in the Super Mario Bros. comics and some commercials prior to Nickelodeon's acquisition of the IP.
