I Objectives:
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of waves as carriers
of energy.
B. Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to participate in activities about
the concept of wave motion.
C. Learning competencies/ objectives: At the end of the session 75% of the students
should be able to attain 80% proficiency level in:
1. Inferring that waves carry energy,
2. Identifying parts of the wave; and
3. Relate the importance of the concept of wave motion in real life situation.

Elicit  Play the “waving song” video.


 Have students sing the song.
 Ask students: “When we think of a
word wave what would usually came in
your mind?”

Engage  Encourage the learners to demonstrate


their personal hand waves.
 Ask students: “What do you do when
you wave your hand?”
 Invite the learners to place their fingers
lightly on their throat while creating a
sound.
 Ask students: “What have you feel
when you place your fingers on your
throat?
 Presentation of Objectives

Explore  Class divided into four (4) small groups


prior to the activity.
 (Brainstorming) let students
collaborate ideas on how to create
their own waves. Each group must
assigned a leader, secretary and
reporter/s
 Have student perform Activity “Let’s
Make Waves” from their Science LM
book.

Explain  Have students present their output in


the class and their answer to questions
in activity sheet. (Oral Reporting)
 They will be rated using a rubric

Elaborate  Post activity discussion


 Show PP slides about “Waves and
wave properties”.
 Ask students: “Why we are able to
see?”
Values Integration  How can you relate the importance of
our topic to real life situation?

Evaluate Worksheet: Anatomy of the Wave Worksheet


Objective: Identify the parts of the wave and
draw your own diagram of wave.

Extend  Assignment: Cut pictures from old


magazines, newspapers or posters of
waves that you have known, paste the
pictures on long bond paper/ you can
research images for printout in
internet.
