The document discusses sound editing improvements made to a film. An interrogation scene was re-recorded with a tascam to remove hiss and make the audio less harsh and clear. Audio levels throughout the film were adjusted to make dialogue audible without drowning out background music. Compression was also added to balance the stereo audio. UNIT 24:SOUND EDITING

LAC
At the beginning of my film it showed there is a conversation
between two characters in the interrogation room, when I
Sound Editing Write up showed this to an audience I was told that the sound was too
sensitive and the hiss in the scene was very loud. To make
sure this scene was clear I used the audio recorded on a
tascam instead of the audio from a recorded on the camera
this made the sound less harsh and very clear, it also got rid of
the hiss by turn down the audio level and adding background
audio. In certain scenes I was told that the audio was too loud
so I changed all audio levels to a audio level that was suitable
for the audience. The background music I used at certain
points would drown out some of the dialogue so I changed the
audio gain level so the dialogue and the background music
had an effective balance. From showing other people my film I
was told the music that I used was effective in enhancing the
atmosphere in the scene. The ending music adds to the
dramatic ending as it builds the feeling of mystery. To make
sure my audio was effective I added a audio compression as
the audio was said to be quite stereo when I showed it to the
people I worked with.
