To Whom It May Concern;

I am writing this letter to highly recommend Melissa Mayer, as she seeks a special educator
position. Being the Site Professor from the University of Colorado at Denver, I have known
Melissa for the Spring semester of 2019, as I have mentored her through her final semester
of student teaching at Adventure Elementary in the Mapleton School District in
Colorado. Melissa is a remarkable student. She excels at building positive, caring
relationships with students and colleagues. Melissa is thoughtful, caring and conscientious in
all that she does.

Melissa is organized, intentional and prepared for every lesson and assignment she
undertakes. She seeks out materials to make the lessons accessible for all of her students
and incorporates all elements of a successful lesson. Melissa works hard to always do her
best, not for the grade, but because she believes in excellence. She is very reflective about
her work and will revise her work, even if not needed. Experienced with K-12 students as
well as special education responsibilities, she brings a plethora of knowledge for the special
education and general education classrooms.

A few aspects that I truly appreciate about Melissa are her critical thinking skills, reflective
practice, her efforts to get involved with team members and the school community, her
flexibility with schedule changes, and, most importantly, her positive attitude in all that she
does. Melissa’s strengths also include her passion for improving education for ALL students,
her compassion and her integrity in her role as an educator.

Without a doubt, Melissa would be a valuable asset for any school. Her organizational skills,
caring compassion, and thoughtful insights will enrich the lives of students in whatever
classroom she is in, as well as be an excellent addition to any staff. If you would like any
further information about Melissa, please do not hesitate to call me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Molly Leamon
