with your district. As Danielles field instructor, I have enjoyed watching her progress as a teacher during her year-long internship at Holt High School in Holt, Michigan. Ms. Turner is well-organized and passionate about helping students learn in the social studies content area. Danielle has done very well in the areas of organization and finding ways to make social studies relevant. She took it upon herself to work with her mentor teacher to organize materials and clearly articulate unit objectives for an Ancient Civilizations course. Ms. Turner plans a variety of activities to maximize student engagement and learning. Even when plans did not work out the way she expected, Danielle immediately reflected about ways she could change the plan for the next time she taught. Ms. Turner values a student-centered classroom where students have the opportunity to learn from their classmates. She has incorporated a variety of technologies, such as Poll Anywhere, which gives the students an opportunity to become involved with class rather than sit passively by. I observed Danielle teach a lesson in which she incorporated music to introduce a new unit and another lesson in which students worked collaboratively to read information about a given topic, then present their information to the rest of the class.

I highly recommend Danielle Turner for a position on your teaching staff. She brings a range of prior experience in coaching and work outside of education that has already contributed to her skill as a teacher. Ms. Turners dedication to educating students to the best of her ability would be a welcome contribution to the district. If I may further Danielle Turners candidacy in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
