To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Caley Petty. I have worked closely with Ms.
Petty as her University of Memphis Supervisor in the Ready 2 Teach Program. Ms. Petty was a
Residency II candidate during the spring of 2019. During this time, I have seen Ms. Petty
demonstrate that she is able to perform at a high level, ensuring that her students receive a
challenging and enjoyable learning experience. Ms. Petty has also shown consistency in meeting the
needs of every learner in her class by fostering relationships with her students.

I have seen Ms. Petty demonstrate her passion for teaching through engaging lessons that are always
delivered with tremendous enthusiasm. Ms. Petty created a captivating lesson where the students
went on a top-secret mission to learn about the many leaders of World War II. She delivered the
content with such confidence that the students truly believed they were federal agents on a critical
mission. She has demonstrated many creative teaching strategies that grab the attention of her
students and maintain strong academic content.

Ms. Petty worked well to collaborate with her mentor teacher and the Fifth Grade English Language
Arts department and the Social Studies department. During planning meetings, her new ideas and
strategies were brought to the team and would then be incorporated into the learning segments.

As I have had the opportunity to work with Ms. Petty, I was able to see that she is able to incorporate
higher order thinking questions into her lessons to meet the needs of all of her learners. She also
provided her students many opportunities to engage collaboratively to share viewpoints and ideas.
Ms. Petty planned lessons that included self-made materials to enhance curiosity and student
interaction. She demonstrated good use of technology to facilitate all instruction.

Ms. Petty has always reflected a hard work ethic and is responsible. She is a pleasure to work with
and she undoubtedly will be a credit to any school faculty. Ms. Petty is an individual that I believe
will make great contributions to her students’ lives and the school in which she serves. If I can
provide additional information regarding Caley Petty, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Lee Lindsay
