TWIG GPRS Telematics

TWIG Discovery Pro and TWIG Locator can now communicate


using either GPRS data or SMS for sending and receiving telematic
messages with TWIG Web Finder backend system.

Using GPRS saves on airtime cost, especially when frequent


position updates are required.

TWIG GPRS has a configurable backup method using normal


SMS. This can step in as communication bearer if GPRS becomes
unavailable, improving reliability of service.

To benefit from the GPRS cost advantage, choosing the right


subscription from mobile operator is important. For typical use, a
flat rate GPRS subscription including a minimum of 10-20 MB of
monthly data is recommended.
