UNIT 1- LESSON 1 (1A) 90 minutes


Vocabulary and listening: Fashion

I. Lead in: Ask students about what kinds of clothes they like wearing.

II. Exercise 1. Vocabulary


- Ask students to look at the words in purple in the book. Read out loud one by one,
students repeat. With the difficult word, repeat several times. Focus on the ending
sounds.

- Explain any words that students don’t know.


- Ask students to match the adjectives with the clothes

III. Exercise 2
- Read the task together with students

- Teacher reads out the words, students repeat. Explain any words that students don’t
know
- Ask students in turn to give their ideas about a photo.
IV. Exercise 3:
- Tell students they are going to listen to a recording, they should find out who are
described in the recording.

- Play the recording, students listen.


- Ask students to give answer and say what words they hear can help to identify the
people.

- When students finish, play the recording to check the answer.

VI. Learn this


- Elicit students to name all kinds of adjectives then write on the board (length, size,
opinion, texture, pattern or… shape, colour, material
- Ask students to think about the order of adjectives in a sentence. Ask some of them to
get their ideas.
- Ask students to look at LEARN THIS box and see the order. Complete the missing ones.
- Check the work:

Ask students to find more adjectives for each.


- Ask students to do exercise 1.01 page 108 students book for further practice.
- Teacher checks.
VII. Speaking
- Show this photo on the TV. Elicit students to say about the clothes; help them to put the
adjectives in the correct order.

- Students in pairs, come to point to the photo and describe people’s clothes. Each student
describes 2 people. Teacher stays beside and corrects/ helps students when necessary.
