PERFORMANCE TASK (with rubrics)
Goal: Present a creative Chamber Theatre representing your school for the “English Festival”.
Role: You are grade 9 students who are representative delegates of your school, striving to accomplish a
challenging tasks: WRITER, who’s trying to write chamber theatre script adaptation; and
ACTORS/ACTRESSES, presenting a live theatrical advertisement.
Audience: Your target audience is your schoolmates, school administrators and faculty as well as your
parents and the organizers of the “English Festival” in your local community. You need to prove that you
can be creative in the presentation of the play. You will not just provide entertainment for your audience but
also to impress them with your dramatic persuasive capacity.
Situation: There is an upcoming “English Festival” in your local community. Each school representative
delegates are requested to present a theatrical advertisement of a current social issue (Chamber Theatre)
and the challenge is how to do it creatively within the limits of available resources.
Product: Chamber Theatre Presentation and original Script adaptation,
