Grow Management Consultants is a consultancy business specialising in leadership
consultancy and has been operational for the last five years. The company offers a
range of services to assist companies to assess leadership behaviour of existing
manager.

One of our representatives have suggested to form a health and safety committee,
but I haven’t found any information online. So, I decided to send you an email
requesting the details on the requirements to form a health and safety committee.

Subject: Health and safety committee

Dear Staff,

As is there is not enough information on forming the health and safety committee
online, authorities were contacted and we heard back from them will all the
necessary details on forming a committee.

The requirements specified by the committee are as below:


Where a relevant Health and Safety Representative (HSR), or five or more workers,
at a workplace request the creation of a HSC, the person conducting a business or
undertaking (PCBU) must create one within two months of the request.

A PCBU may create a HSC at any time.

Functions of a Health and Safety Committee are:

 Facilitate cooperation between the PCBU and workers in instigating,


developing and carrying out measures designed to ensure the workers’ health
and safety at work.
 Assist in developing standards, rules and/or procedures relating to health and
safety to improve and ensure workers health and safety at the workplace.
 Comply with functions prescribed by regulations.
 Carry out any other functions agreed between the PCBU and the HSC.
