“Education system of Pakistan government”

“Education is the knowledge of putting one's potentials to maximum use. One can safely say that
a human being is not in the proper sense till he is educated”

Education is the backbone in the development of any nation. It is a fact that countries that have
an effective system of education also happen to be the leaders of the world, both socially and
economically. Education serves as protection against different forces. It plays a very important
role in our lives. It ensures a brighter future for everyone. Not many people succeed in life
without a good educational foundation. Education starts with early childhood development. We
teach our children at home when they are infants to start the stimulation, imagination, and the
creativity of their minds.  When Pakistan got independence it had to start every business
including education from a scratch .The newly independent country with loads of problems
found it quite difficult to overcome all such problems, education being one of them. Though 63
years have been passed and 23 policies and action plans have been introduced yet the educational
sector is waiting for arrival of a savior. In Human development Report Pakistan is placed at
136th position for having just 49.9% educated populace. The primary completion rate in
Pakistan, given by Date Center of UNESCO, is 33.8% in females and 47.18% in males, which
shows that people in the 6th largest country of the world are unable to get the basic education.
The underlying base of an organization or any system is referred to as infrastructure. The basic
or necessary services or facilities that are required for the smooth functioning of a society are
referred to as infrastructure. The major difficulties in Pakistani education system related to weak
infrastructure facilities, there is not proper furniture in the government schools, the windows and
doors of most of the schools have been damaged. Pakistan is one of the only 12 countries that
spend less than 2 % percent of their GDP on education. Education experts say that Government
has completely failed in bridging the divide between the rich and the poor and even today it is
said that government schools are for the poor while private schools are for rich. However
Government schools are trying their level best to attract parents with various programs. There is
also an issue of having a two – tiered system where the students are teaches only instead of
learning.

The function of education is to bring change in child behavior and personality in a more
desirable form. Development of child’s body and mind demand proper curricular and
extracurricular activities include; sports, athletics, scouting, cubing, various hobbies, excursions
literary societies, dramatics, debates etc. Therefore, modern Approaches of education emphasize
on all round development of the child. Which is only possible when proper grounds are available
for students which is not being practiced in government schools no doubt they have a lot of
empty space but not looks like ground not properly grassed and designed for any particular
game. It is important that proper grounds are made for different games like football, cricket,
volley ball, hockey etc.
The lack of technical education is a biggest flaw in the educational policy that has never been
focused before. The teachers in government schools are not well trained. People who do not
get job in any other sector, they try their luck in educational system. They are not professionally
trained teachers so they are unable to train a nation. Workshops must be arranged for teachers.
Foreign states are using LSS system. This should be inducted in Pakistani schools to improve the
hidden qualities of children. Teachers, professors and educationists should be consulted while
devising any plan, syllabus or policy. The need of time is to bring education in its original form
to masses. Burdening students with so many books will not work as he will not understand what
the world is going to do next moment.
Problems always have solutions along with them, in the same way if there are so many problems
in the public schools of Pakistan there solutions are also possible, on one government school
more expenditures then private school are made but still public schools are facing many
problems because there is no governess in public schools recourses are less and no matter how
much government allot budget for public schools but there proper utilization is made or not this
is important. Government needs to show much attention in this regard through different
programs and policies and implementation of these policies are also makes assured. Proper
structure is need to be provided, proper furniture with lights and fans which creates a better
environment for study. Only education is not enough in this regard proper grounds are very
important for the physical fitness and training of student, extracurricular activities are also makes
possible including debates, and quiz competitions etc. library computer and science labs are also
required to makes student efficient and meet the time requirements. Estimating the value of
education, the Government should take solid steps on this issue. Implementation instead of
projecting policies should be focused on. Allocation of funds should be made easy from
provinces to districts and then to educational institutes. Only government is not responsible for
this NGOS also have to play their role with the government. And government has to also
increase budget for the education sector.
