॥ ब्रह्म-स्तोत्रम ॥
॥ Brahma-Stotram ॥

1. नमस्ते सते ते जगत्कारणाय ,


नमस्ते चिते सर्वलोकाश्रयाय ।
नमोऽद्वैततत्त्वाय मचु िप्रदाय ,
नमो ब्रह्मणे व्याचिने शाश्वताय ॥१॥

namaste sate te jagatkāraṇāya,


namaste cite sarvalokāśrayāya |
namo'dvaitatattvāya muktipradāya,
namo brahmaṇe vyāpine śāśvatāya ||1||

Salutations to that Being, the cause of the universe! Salutations to that


Consciousness, the support of all the worlds! Salutations to that One Truth –
which is without a second, which gives liberation! Salutations to that pure,
eternal Brahman who pervades all regions!
2. त्वमेकं शरण्यं त्वमेकं र्रेण्यं ,
त्वमेकं जगत्पालकं स्वप्रकाशम ।्
त्वमेकं जगत्कतत व िातत प्रहतत व ,
्
त्वमेकं िरं चनश्चलं चनचर्वकल्पम ॥२॥

tvamekaṃ śaraṇyaṃ tvamekaṃ vareṇyaṃ,


tvamekaṃ jagatpālakaṃ svaprakāśam |
tvamekaṃ jagatkartṛ pātṛ prahartṛ,
tvamekaṃ paraṃ niścalaṃ nirvikalpam ||2||

You are my only refuge, You are my one desire, You are the one protector of
the world, the radiant One. You are the creator, sustainer and dissolver of
the whole world, You are the one great motionless Being, free from change
and modification.

3. भयानां भयं भीषणं भीषणानां ,


गचतिः प्राचणनां िार्नं िार्नानाम ।्
महोच् ैिः िदानां चनयन्तत त्वमेकं ,
्
िरेषां िरं रक्षणं रक्षणानाम ॥३॥

bhayānāṃ bhayaṃ bhīṣaṇaṃ bhīṣaṇānāṃ,


gatiḥ prāṇināṃ pāvanaṃ pāvanānām |
mahoccaiḥ padānāṃ niyantṛ tvamekaṃ,
pareṣāṃ paraṃ rakṣaṇaṃ rakṣaṇānām ||3||

You are feared even by the fearless, and You rule even the rulers. You are
the Goal of all creatures. You purify all those who teach the virtue of purity.
In a powerful way, You are the One Controller of every step taken. You are
the Greatest and the Protector of all protectors.

4. र्यं त्वां स्मरामो र्यं त्वां भजामो ,


्
र्यं त्वां जगत साचक्षरूिं नमामिः ।
सदेकं चनधानं चनरालम्बमीशं ,
भर्ाम्भोचधिोतं शरण्यं व्रजामिः ॥४॥

vayaṃ tvāṃ smarāmo vayaṃ tvāṃ bhajāmo,


vayaṃ tvāṃ jagat sākṣirūpaṃ namāmaḥ |
sadekaṃ nidhānaṃ nirālambamīśaṃ,
bhavāmbhodhipotaṃ śaraṇyaṃ vrajāmaḥ ||4||

You are the eternal all-pervading witness of the whole universe. We


meditate on the one Truth. We silently adore Thee and offer Thee our
salutation. We take complete refuge in that one Almighty Being, the basis of
everything, self-supporting and supreme, a vessel in the stormy sea of life.
