  PEAC MESSAGE OF LOVE
           TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE
             (AND ALL PEOPLE)
               ON CHRISTMAS.
This Christmas holiday season, I had an epiphany. I was driving in my car
to buy some Christmas lights, enjoying the Christmas music and all the
decorations on the houses, and suddenly I felt like I needed to share this
feeling with my Jewish neighbors. I realized at that moment that not everyone
has the same loving feelings about this time of the year as I do. My feelings
were confirmed the very next day when a good friend and coworker of mine,
who happens to be Jewish, jokingly said to me: “that time of year is here
again, bah humbug”. Luckily, God had already prompted me to decorate my
house in blue and white lights along with stars of David, a homemade sign that
states “we keep the Jewish in Jesus”, as well as the Nativity Scene. I told him
“I decorated my home in a more Jewish dFcor this year, after all my Savior
Jesus is Jewish.” He smiled. This really got me thinking. I have seen bumper
stickers ‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ (which I agree with) but I have never seen
anything that pertains to keeping the Jewish in Christ. The Jewish people for
whom The Christ (Messiah) came for first, have been left out of their own party.
This may be by choice, and/or by us as Christians making them feel left out.
I for one would like to invite them in! This holiday is not supposed to make
anyone feel left out, but it unfortunately can sometimes make people feel that
way. This year, I would like to inspire everyone who reads this to remember
what the true meaning of Christmas is: A celebration of the birth of the Savior
of the world, who would later willingly give His life to pay the for sins of US
ALL (1 John 2:2). Jesus invites everyone. He does not want anyone to feel left
out. Let us be like Him! Maybe you can put up a Star of David or a Menorah,
or invite your Jewish friends/neighbors to your Christmas gathering this year
and show some love to the Jewish people this year.
