Wellness Step 14: Affirmations (transcript)
Affirmations help you to create your life with your thoughts, feelings and the
words you say. And if you’ve been going through a tough time or you’ve been
feeling lost, they help you to set and do intentions to recreate yourself and move
forward with momentum, which is essential for the healing process and the
journey that we’re on. !
See, words hold power. They really do. Words are powerful and they mean so
much. And what we say matters here on earth and what we say matters in
heaven, in the universe. The Great Divine hears what we say. The angelic realm
hears what we say every day. Our loved ones that cross over hear what we have
to say because it matters what you say. !
It doesn’t matter if you’re in company with someone. It doesn’t matter if you’re
around a group of people. It doesn’t matter if you’re alone. You’re still heard and
you’re always heard when you speak out loud and your intention is speaking and
it’s coming out of your mouth. !
This is the intention of your heart, the intention of your soul, the intention that
your wisdom is trying to project. This is what matters and it’s heard all the time. !
So when we speak, we’re being listened to. We really are. We have an audience.
So you can be alone. You can be laying there sick, chronic illness of any kind or
dealing with some kind of struggle and you can be by yourself and what you say
is heard. !
And you have to have faith in that. Go back to the faith step because that will
help. But have faith that you’re heard because you really are. !
And when we have prayer, when we pray, we’re heard as well. But when we just
speak, we’re heard. That’s the point I’m trying to say because this point is
powerful because words hold meaning. They really do. !
So what’s an affirmation? You know what an affirmation is. It’s like basically
putting it out there. You’re putting something out there. You want something to
happen. You want improvement on your being. You want to improve. You want
your soul to improve. You want to heal. You want to get stronger. So we can say,

“I want to get stronger.” And we can even say, “I am getting stronger.” It’s as
simple as that. !
Affirmations do not have to be complicated. They really don’t. And there are
different people that do different affirmations and different ways of doing them.
There are a lot of different trends out there. And some say, “Well, you’re not
supposed to say, ‘I want to have this… I need this.’” That’s not true. You can say
anything you want. You have free will, free will to get your message across. !
And how you say it matters as far as the intention that’s there. So even though
words hold power and you have an audience, the audience that’s listening
above, the audience that we’re talking about, the angelic realm, God, the Great
Divine, the universe, the higher source, the holy source, your loved ones, anyone
who’s listening knows your intention behind what you are saying. So if your
words don’t come out perfect and they don’t come out just pristine and it’s not
right or it doesn’t feel right really, but you have the intention behind it, that’s what
is picked up. !
So it’s not complicated. If you say, “Well, I need this. I need to have peace in my
heart,” it’s okay to say that. You can also say, “I have peace in my heart. I want
peace in my heart.” It’s not complicated. !
In fact, simplicity matters with affirmations. It really does. Short and sweet is
okay. Don’t feel you have to have a long affirmation, a very long complex
affirmation. You can if you want absolutely. You’re still going to have your
audience. There’s no question. !
But when we’re trying to heal and we’re trying to move forward and we’re trying
to gain ground and we’ve been sick with chronic illness or we’ve been
emotionally sick or we’ve been struggling spiritually, struggling physically, simple
is better. It really is because the intention is there. It truly is. So you can say, “I
want peace inside my heart. There is peace inside my heart. I’m a wonderful
person. I didn’t do anything wrong.”!
You see, what happens is when we’re sick and we have chronic illness and we’re
suffering, we feel like we did something wrong. We feel like we caused this on
ourselves. This is one of the most important lessons to take with you to really
digest because we did not create our illness. !

You didn’t create your illness. When you got chronic fatigue symptom, you didn’t
create that. You really didn’t. You didn’t create your multiple sclerosis. You didn’t
create the labels that are given to you. You didn’t create the illness, the
symptoms. You didn’t create your Lyme disease. You didn’t create what
neurological disorder you have or digestive disorder or weight gain or thyroid
problems. !
You didn’t create this. This wasn’t created by you. You didn’t manifest this. This
isn’t your manifestation and now you’re being punished. You need to know your
illness isn’t to punish you and you did not create your illness to punish yourself. !
I promise you this. There’s one thing that I hear from Spirit of the Most High,
which is compassion. The one thing that I hear is you did not manifest, you did
not create it. This is not a manifestation of your creation when you’re ill. !
So when we’re ill, I’d like to keep it a little simple too. I really do because look,
you’ve been through enough struggles. And even if you are not struggling and
you feel fine, simplicity is great with affirmations and you can say, “I did not
cause this on myself. I did not create my sickness. I am a good person. I am a
loving person. I am a compassionate person. I am a compassionate being. What
I do matters here on earth. Everything I do matters here on earth. !
And I have love in my heart. I’m not a bad person. This is not my fault. I did not
create my illness and I did not create my problem.”!
You have to understand. We are not supposed to just go through life completely
unscathed or we’ll never grow. We just never grow. We get challenged along the
way and these challenges come whether we like it or not, but we can do our
affirmations and we can get relief and we can get help and we can get movement
forward in our lives. !
We can come out of the ashes. We really can. I’ve seen thousands of people
come out of the ashes, thousands and thousands of people come out of the
ashes and it’s very possible. Affirmations fortify that. They really do. !
You can create your future. There’s no question. You can, but you can’t think it’s
your fault if you’ve been through something or you’ve been sick or you’ve been ill
and that you created that because you didn’t. !

So the affirmations can be simple, simplistic. It’s the key, it really is. “I’m a loving
person. I have peace in my heart. I want peace in my heart. I need peace in my
heart.” You can ask the angels for help. It’s an affirmation. When you ask the
angel of peace for help, it’s an affirmation. When you ask the angel of mercy for
help and you tell the angel of mercy, “I need help,” that’s a kind of affirmation
actually. So it’s not just about saying, “I have peace in my heart.”!
So we can do our affirmations. We can do them every day. We can do them when
we want, a little bit at a time whenever we feel comfortable. But say them out
loud. Don’t say them in your head or in your mind. Say them out loud. You can
write them down if you want first. !
You can write them down, that’s perfectly fine. But you do want to voice it, you do
want to voice your affirmations. You really do. You do want your audience to hear
and if for some reason, you can’t speak because you don’t have that ability to
speak, then the angels will help deliver your affirmations. They will. I promise
that, they will. It comes right through and it will happen that way. !
