Ears (make 2)

Cast on 12 St
Knit 18 rws
Dec 1 stitch (K2tog) each end of next and every 4th row until 2 st remain
K2tog and fasten off

To Make Up

Head

The gathered stitches form the nose and the cast on edge is at the back of the head.
Use Mattress stitch to sew the head seam until about an inch gap is left at the back of
the head. Stuff the head with small piece of toy stuffing shaping the head as desired
and making sure the finished piece feels firm. Finish off the mattress stitch to
complete the head.

Face

Make little knots for the eyes and sew a rabbit nose over the top of the gathered
stitches to finish the face.

Body

Starting at the neck edge seam the back of the body using mattress stitch. Stuff the
body firmly. Sew along the bottom to ‘seal’ the bottom of the body in a straight line
making sure the seam is going up the centre back.

Legs

Sew from the top of the leg down the back seam, fill with toy stuffing and sew the
bottom of the foot closed keeping it flat.

Ears

Fold in half at the base and sew in place on top of the head. I like to sew on the first
one and then thread the same needle to the other ears placement and pull firmly and
use it to sew the other ear into place to create a bit more shape between the ears.

Shoes

Crochet a chain long enough to stretch across the foot of the rabbit and stitch in place
like a pair of mary-jane shoes J You can also sew a little button on one side to
resemble a fastening on the shoe.

Putting it all together

Sew the head to the body making sure to pull the stitches through the stuffing for
added security. I always use a really long thread for this and then pull it through the
body and back out again at the placement for the arms. Sew the arms in place.
Sew the legs flat across the top and then attach to the lower edge of the body using a
whipstitch so that the join is flat and the legs can move around.

Please Note: this is not the Aran jumper it is the blue/green ribbed jumper. I haven’t
