The document discusses critical reading and provides a table comparing critical reading to non-critical reading. The table shows that non-critical readers view texts as providing facts to memorize, while critical readers recognize that any single text only provides one perspective and selection of facts that lead to a particular understanding. Critical readers consider the author's unique portrayal of the subject matter and how the text shapes understanding, rather than just memorizing statements.
