I. ASSCAT Vision, Mission and Goals


Vision
ASSCAT as the premier agro-industrial Higher Education Institution in CARAGA Region capable of producing morally upright,
competent and globally competitive human resource capable to effectively undertake and implement sustainable development.

Mission
ASSCAT shall primarily provide higher professional, technical and special instructions for special purposes and to promote research and
extension
services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in agriculture, education, forestry, fishery, engineering, arts and sciences and other relevant
fields.

b. Facilitate learning using a wide range of teaching methodologies in various types of environment.
c. Develop alternative teaching approaches for diverse learners.
d. Apply skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, instructional delivery and educational assessment.
e. Demonstrate basic and higher levels of thinking skills in planning, assessing and reporting.
f. Practice professional and ethical teaching standards to respond to the demands of the community.
g. Pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional growth.

Specific Program Outcome- Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE)

a. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the development of adolescent learners.


b. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of various learning areas in the secondary curriculum.
c. Create and utilize materials appropriate to the secondary level to enhance teaching and learning.
d. Design and implement assessment tools and procedures to measure secondary learning outcomes.

IV. COURSE DESCRIPTION


This course includes understanding of spiraling basic science concepts and application of science inquiry in Physics and Earth and Space,
strategies in teaching elementary science, development of instructional materials and assessment. Content topics in Physics include Force and
Motion, and Energy while Earth and Space Science include Geology, Meteorology and Astronomy.

1. Realize that the earth is not the center of the universe.


2. Equip students on how energy is harnessed.
3. Equip students with the Newton’s Law of Motion.
4. Acquire knowledge and understanding about the fundamental concepts related to planet earth and its environments and their application.
5. Identify questions and problems in the earth and environmental sciences that can be answered through scientific investigations.
6. Build an understanding of global changes and their consequences.
7. Recognize natural resources problems and issues to give them the opportunity to suggest solutions to such problems.
8. Equip students with the basic knowledge befitting informed citizens of the global community in the 21st century.
9. Understand some basic physics concepts and apply them to astronomy problems.
10. Gain knowledge of the physical scales, masses, sizes, lifetimes and other properties associated with a wide variety of astronomical objects
