The United States believes that women's rights are an important human concern given that women make up half the global population and over 50% of the U.S. population. Many Muslim-majority countries do not provide equal rights and treatment to women under the law. The United States of America (USA) is a country comprising 50 states, a federal district,


five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. At 3.8 million square
miles (9.8 million km2), the United States is the world's third or fourth largest country by
total area and is slightly smaller than the entire continent of Europe. With a population of
over 327 million people, the U.S. is the third most populous country. The capital
is Washington, D.C., and the most populous city is New York City. Most of the country is
located contiguously in North America between Canada and Mexico.
the Declaration of Independence was issued in 1776. The war ended in 1783 with the
United States becoming the first country to gain independence from a colonial
empire. The current constitution was adopted in 1788, with the first ten amendments,
collectively named the Bill of Rights, being ratified in 1791 to guarantee
many fundamental civil liberties. The end of the Cold War and collapse of the Soviet
Union in 1991 left the United States as the world's sole superpower.
Women Rights in Islamic countries is very important topic of human concern as women
are the near about the half of world population and 50.8 percent in United States of
America. United States of America believes the equality of women as human and
should also be treated as humans. There are many Muslim countries in world where
there are no women rights and women are treated inferiorly against the males and did
not provide the equal basic and human rights to women. There are many universal laws
and convention like Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women
(CEDAW) and Declaration for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (DEVAW)
which protect the women rights, but these declarations should be signed, ratified and
implement as the part of national policy of all respective countries especially in Muslim
countries.
United States of America acknowledged the all legal developments under the umbrella
of United Nations to provide the women rights in Muslim countries. There are some
issues like cultural differences, religious restrictions and traditional stereo types in
Muslim countries should be address and resolve with cooperation of United Nations
Women Committee and United Nations Commission for the status of women. United
States of America is working with all the respective bodies of United Nations for women
Rights in Islamic Countries. United States of America offer the cooperation of every
nature for the women rights like USAID and other non-Governmental programs to
Muslim Countries to tackle the issue of women rights.
