SET DESIGN

Choose a specific scene from a book, play, musical or film for your set design and answer the following questions. You
will need to answer these before you begin your floor plan. Remember that you should choose a scene from a
book/play/musical that you are very familiar with so that you can explain all of your design choices.

1. What is the title of the book/play/musical that you will use for your set design?

2. Clearly explain what is happening in the scene that you have chosen. Include where it falls in the storyline, characters
involved, location, time of day, etc.

3. What colors would you include in your design and how can you explain your choices?

4. What are the needs of the scene? Ex. Character runs up stairs.

5. What are the major set pieces that you will include in your scene?

6. How will you make the pieces easily mobile?
