Meeting report:
The meeting started with an opening prayer led by Mrs. Jenita Padolina followed
by a welcome greeting from the school directress, Mrs. Myrna Martin. In the meeting, she
discussed the different learning modalities of learning such as: Face to face, Distance Learning
and Blended Learning. In face to face, the teaching and learning process takes place inside the
school, where the teacher and students are in contact with each other while in distance learning,
the teaching and learning process takes place even the teacher and students are far from each
other and in blended learning, it is the combination of two types of distance learning and face to
face. There are two types of distance learning; the modular distance learning and the online
distance learning. In modular distance learning, the teaching and learning process happens with
the use of books, textbooks, worksheets, activity sheets and other printed materials that will be
delivered in their homes by the teacher themselves, while in online distance learning, the
teaching and learning process happens with the use of electronic gadgets like cellphone,
computer and laptop, radio and television through messenger chat, call, or text and other forms
of communication.
Modular and online distance learning are the learning modalities the school has
chosen to implement because of the pandemic crisis the country is facing and for the safety of
the students. The face to face will not be implemented, unless a vaccine will be made. It will be a
great challenge specially for the teachers but the school assured the parents that their children
will learn the knowledge that they need to learn like they we’re just in school.
Mrs. Myrna Martin also discussed the tuition fees that the parents should pay for
the coming school year 2020-2021. She said that no deduction of tuition fees will happen
because the teachers will spend a lot of money, time and energy to teach their students. She
reminded the parents that there are books that will be used in teaching the children. She told
them about the prices of books in every grade level. She said that those books will be of great
help not just for the students and teachers but also for the parents.
Mrs. Myrna Martin, mentioned about teaching the students using face to face at
home but with a waiver. She knows that there are parents who can’t monitor their children
because of their work and other matters at home, so she suggested that the parents can ask the
class adviser of their children to teach them at home but after class hours only and with an
agreement from the parents and the school. She told them that the school will not take any
responsibility to the teacher because the service will be rendered after class hours, the one that
should take responsible are the parents who asked for the teacher’s service.
Before the meeting ends, the school director and directress asked the parents if
they have some questions, suggestions or concerns about the matters discussed in the meeting
earlier. When there are no questions asked, the school directress, Mrs. Myrna Martin, thank
everybody and bid goodbye.
