Gestures, facial expressions, and body language convey important non-verbal communication and messages. In multicultural settings, differences in language, norms, and decision-making processes can lead to frustration and conflict unless mutual understanding is developed. To communicate effectively, it is important to keep an open mind, use simple language, be aware of word choices, and let go of preconceived cultural notions. Mindfulness of communication styles in a diverse workplace helps build stronger connections by listening to different cultural perspectives without judgment.

1. My view towards body language and facial expression as non-verbal

communication is that gesture and movement can also convey a great
deal of communication. The gesture is a characteristic of non-verbal
communication in which visible bodily actions communicate a particular
message. The gesture includes movement of the hands, face, or the other
parts of the body is sends off different messages to the
listeners/audience. The facial expression can convey a message without
a word. The facial expressions for happiness, sadness, anger, fear, or any
kind of facial expressions that tell the person you’re communicating
with whether or not you care.
2. The video raise about the complexity of communication in a
multicultural setting is trouble with accents and fluency. A more obvious
challenge within an organizationally APEC meeting is the language
barriers among the leaders. Although English is the standard language
internationally for business, this can sometimes cause frustration and
interpersonal conflict. An organization can be negatively affected and
fail to see an increase in its return on investment. Conflicting norms for
decision making, cultures differ in how long the decision-making
process takes. This mutual understanding among countries leaders
encourages new ideas, a different perspective, and collaboration, making
all the difference within an organization.
3. It means communicating effectively in a multicultural setting is to
prepare everyone to identify the characteristic of people in the
workplace to keep everyone informed of culture and more. Use simple
language, be aware of word choices that can anyone easy to
gets/understand. Keep on open-minded is the most important thing to do
in relating people to different cultures. We are bombarded with a
cultural assumption, particularly in social media, and being an effective
communicator means letting go of our preconceived notions about our
cultural alliance and the background they come from.

4. We should be mindful of how we communicate effectively in a

multicultural setting to being fully present with ourselves in our diverse
relationship at work. It creates clarify self-observation, and an even
better understanding of how other cultures view our culture, mindfulness
represent moment to moment awareness with the willingness to listen to
others and from them, without judgment of right or wrong. Being
mindful of communication will increase our chances of building stronger
connections. It can also help us be the best version of ourselves in a
diverse term. We can be more sensitive to our surroundings if we put our
minds to it.
