Increasing in technology development sets high remarks for every individual all over the
universe. People sets high standards in terms of developing artificial intelligence leading them to
different ideas an AI should be capable of. Lots of articles are simultaneously published about
the rampant development of artificial intelligence. One of those is the article of Stephan Talty
entitled “What Will Our Society Look Like When Artificial Intelligence Is Everywhere?” that is
illustrated by Jules Julien. According to him, artificial intelligence (AI) is developed by the
imaginative and curios mind of a scientist. People keep on setting imaginations about the
future’s rapid development of technology. This article caught my interest because it got ideas
about the different advantages and disadvantages of AI in human society. Advantages in a way
of being helpful in using different strategies that could lessen the workloads of humans and a
disadvantage because a human will be lazy enough to do the job, for they will only be dependent
on AI in every hours of their life.
The grammar of the article is much appreciated because it doesn’t go beyond the
boundary of its title. It is catchy in a sense of using simple words that every reader would be
capable to understand. The idea of the author about this article runs around what will the world
look like when all the task that should be set for people is be given to an AI? Will an AI be able
to live like humans, given their own rights and become self-aware, and what about the human
race? These ideas will be able to fulfill the imagination capacity of every reader of this article.
Curiosity will be fed to their minds and start to conclude for possible actions or answers. As a
reader, me on my own set imaginations about the future of humans once artificial intelligence is
developed as a normal thing after so many centuries. It is worrying somehow although it gives a
lot of positive effect still there are negative one that could not be taken by the minds of people.
Centuries from now, AI will begin taking jobs away from people, millions of jobs- as drivers,
radiologists and even an insurance adjusters, and in one possible scenario, this will lead the
government to pay unemployed citizens a universal basic income, freeing them to pursue their
dreams unburdened by the need to earn a living. It will unfortunately create wealth inequalities,
chaos and failed states across the globe.
Its content varied upon the imagination of every reader. It gives five scenarios of the
future that is dominated by AI. According to Stephan, imagine if we are living in a world where
AIs are everywhere. Year 2065, forty-five years from now, humans are already suppressed by
artificial intelligence. Concerning the possibilities of erasing human race altogether due to the
negative effects of AI development. This article contains one single line that would possibly
open the mind of every reader and that line says “Scenario where future is AI and humans are
left out of it, if the world is taken over by unconscious robots, that would be about as disastrous
and bleak a scenario as one could imagine”. Although AI development aids human difficulties
but what about its effect to human race? Stephan Talty’s idea in this article is generalized for
every individual’s concerns that only for the reader.
