Campus Journalism in The Philippines

The history of campus journalism in the Philippines began in the late 19th century with the publication of student newspapers at the university level. By the 1920s, high school student newspapers had emerged across the country. The number of high school newspapers then grew significantly over the following decades, from 30 registered in 1931 to over 900 by 1986, demonstrating how campus journalism became widely established in Philippine education.
