Learning Feedback Diary
(November 13, 2019)
Last Wednesday (November 13) we had a duty in the Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital -
Gabriela Silang. It's should our second week of duty in the OB Ward, unfortunately our Clinical
Instructor (Mr. Melanio Rojas) is not feeling well. So that, Ms. Rowena Quitoriano is our clinical
instructor and she assigned us in the Labor & Delivery Room. Our shift that day is 3pm to 11pm.
It’s our first time to have a night shift.
I monitored the vital signs of my patient in the labor room, which includes the blood
pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, body temperature and fetal heart tone every 15 minutes. I
got a 1 case that day, I performed actual (multigravida) with the help of Ms. Quitoriano. Exactly
at 11pm, she dismissed us.
Learning Feedback Diary
(November 14, 2019)
Last Thursday (November 14, 2019), is our second day in Labor and Delivery Room and
our shift is 3pm to 11pm, but we decided to have a duty of 3pm to 4am. In that way, we won’t
having a duty of 7am to 11am in next day, supposedly Friday (November 15, 2019).
My objective is to gain more knowledge, skills, confidence in dealing with patients. To
apply my gained knowledge that being taught to us in our lectures. And to provide good quality
nursing care.
I have a 1 case again in that day, I performed cord tie. As usual thing, I cleaned the baby
using the OS and baby oil. Measured the circumference, clothed the baby boy and place in the
warm temperature room at the NICU.
It was a great experience to have a 13 hours duty. I learned more to improve myself in
taking care of the patient.
