1. How is a technical report different from a news report?
Mention their differences.
A technical report is usually directed to the technical manager
whereas a general report is written in more generally
understandable terms and directed toward general management.
The main difference between a technical report and a general
report is that technical reports are supposed to be technical, and
news reports are the reports for everyone.
An example of a technical report is a written paper created by a r
esearcher which contains the
specifics of the results of a project. Specific  procedures, elabora
te design notable criteria, research history, images or vivid illust
rations, and other data relevant 
to the
project may be included in such a report.

A news report follows a specific pattern in reporting as well as


modifying. Every newspaper would possibly have its very own
style of writing but a general format observed by using all of the
newspapers at base stages is systematically divided into
numerous parts.

2. Download a research paper of your choice; read its


Executive Summary/Abstract thoroughly and attempt the
questions given below.
a. Identify different parts of the Executive summary.
My topic of research paper is “SMOG”.
The Different parts of the Executive summary of the
chosenresearch paper are given below:
Executive Summary
Purpose:
The purpose of this report is to investigate the reasons behind
the rise in smog in the atmosphere. The report will also
recommend preventive measures for smog control. The aim is to
raise this issue as authorities are not taking this issue seriously.
Background:
According to a recent study Lahore is the second-largest and
most polluted city in Pakistan and it the smog is increased to a
big ratio. The ever-growing urbanization and industrialization
have contributed to the worsening air quality of the city. Smog,
being hazardous to health, is leading to a rapid sprout in multiple
health-related problems.

Results:
Due to the rapid increase in smog, the enviromental situation is
expected to worsen due to the lack of action plan from the
government's side and a failure of concerned authorities to take
note of the urgency of the situation. No such action has been
taken from government since last years. So it resulted in the
increase of smog.
Recommendations:
The precautioms should be taken to control the smog increase.
The traffic pollution and burning of anything which creates a lot
of smoke should be controlled.
