To whom it may concern:
As a highly-motivated graduate nurse from Miami Dade College’s School of Nursing, please
accept the attached resume as an application for one of the new graduate nurse positions as
advertised on your website for the Nursing Residency Program. I am eagerly anticipating an
interview with your company, as I feel this program is a wonderful fit for me to commence my
professional nursing career. I wholeheartedly believe that with the classroom reinforcement and
hands-on experience alongside a preceptor, I will be able to successfully hone the skills and
critical thinking strategies that I have been taught during my nursing program. With this, I will
step into and grow in my role as an independent, efficient, and skilled registered nurse.
During my time in the clinical setting as a student nurse, I was able to gain confidence in my
understanding and application of the nursing process. I was graced with exceptional professors
who allowed me to step into a proactive role and aid in many patients’ experiences while in
clinical. The patients that I had the privilege to take care of were also a great help and allowed
me to provide them care, while they provided me with constructive, encouraging feedback.
Colostomy care, foley catheter insertion, medication administration, and patient teaching are
examples of the skills that I was able to perform with the help and oversight of my professor
and the registered nurses at the facility. I believe I have a strong foundation of the knowledge
and nursing concepts, and am able to provide sufficient patient-centered care. I have been able
to build communication skills from my time spent in the social work field as well as the
customer service industry. I have received feedback regarding my strengths and weaknesses,
and I maintain that I am capable of only improving and growing into this role from here. If
given the opportunity to work for your hospital, I will put forth maximum effort to learn and be
an asset to the team, and believe your team will be valuable in assisting me to evolve in my
nursing career.
I appreciate your consideration of my application and resume. I look forward to receiving an
opportunity with this company and to further discuss how my education and experience would
be an asset to this healthcare system. My personal cell phone number is (786)-282-5042.
Sincerely,
Danielle Rodriguez
